Job Summary

The Treasurer of WOMAN 2 WOMAN plays a critical role in ensuring the financial health and sustainability of the organization. They oversee the organization’s finances, provide financial leadership and guidance to the board, and ensure compliance with financial regulations and best practices.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage the organization’s financial affairs, including budgeting, financial planning, and financial reporting.
  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of financial reports to the board, providing regular updates on the organization’s financial status and performance.
  • Work closely with the Executive Director and finance staff to develop and monitor the annual budget, ensuring alignment with the organization’s strategic goals and priorities.
  • Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, accounting standards, and nonprofit best practices.
  • Oversee the organization’s investment and cash management activities, making recommendations to the board regarding financial strategies and investments.
  • Provide financial guidance and support to board members and staff, answering questions and providing clarification on financial matters as needed.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax preparers, and regulatory agencies to facilitate financial audits, tax filings, and compliance reporting.
  • Serve as a member of the finance committee, participating in meetings and contributing to financial planning and decision-making processes.
  • Uphold the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and ethical conduct in all financial matters, ensuring the responsible stewardship of the organization’s resources. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Previous experience in financial management, accounting, or auditing, with knowledge of nonprofit financial management practices and regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and make informed recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with board members, staff, and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in financial software and systems, with the ability to use accounting software and spreadsheet applications to manage financial data and generate reports.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of WOMAN 2 WOMAN, with a passion for empowering women and youth and promoting social justice and equity.
