Job Summary

The mission of the Metropolitan Nashville-Davidson County Office of Family Safety is to increase victim safety and offender accountability by providing vital crisis intervention services to victims of interpersonal violence while maintaining the emotional wellness of service providers. This Mission is accomplished in our court and community-based Family Safety Centers through client advocacy, training, outreach, multi-disciplinary teams, and Family Safety Center collaboration.

This position will support OFS’s Mission by assisting in the coordination of training and technical assistance efforts of Nashville’s Family Justice Centers under the leadership of the Office of Family Safety.

Job Responsibilities

Typical Duties
Data & Administration

  • Works with the Office of Family Safety Director of Education, Director of Finance &/or Grants Coordinator to meet all grant deadlines in terms of reports, outcomes, and updates.
  • Assists with maintaining a competitive, progressive, and impactful annual training calendar.
  • Assist with the evaluation of training needs and impact through attendee surveys.
  • Assist with the evaluation and identification of statewide technical assistance needs.
  • Maintain FJC’s electronic library and client resource stations.
  • Maintain all training, attendance, survey, and grant-related records.
  • Organize applications for continuing education credits for appropriate training events.
  • Coordinate scheduling and registration for both public training and partner training requests.

Partner Coordination

  • Establishes and maintains strong working relationships with OFS/FSC partners courts, related metro departments, and non-profit programs including but not limited to Police, District Attorney’s Office, Probation, and the Family Justice Center nonprofit partners.
  • Seek out & obtain training requests and opportunities in the public and private sectors.

Training & Education

  • Identify OFS staff training needs and arrange for training opportunities.
  • Assist with the coordination of mandatory Metro domestic violence training.
  • Assist in the revision of current training curricula and supporting materials.
  • Assist in the coordination of monthly webinar screenings and facilitate related “take-away” discussions.
  • Assist in the facilitation and coordination of Family Justice Center staff and partner onboarding.
  • Provides training on specialized topics to local, statewide, and national audiences as appropriate.

Research & Writing

  • Research innovative practices, emerging issues, and updated methods to include in curricula creation and updates.

Community Outreach

  • Works closely with outreach team training to identify partners in need of or requesting training and coordinate those training needs.
  • Participate in community education programs as appropriate.
  • Review internal client demographics to identify underserved and/or marginalized populations for additional staff training needs.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Strong administrative skills with Microsoft programs (Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated understanding of the dynamics of domestic violence and effective intervention strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to engage in positive collaboration with individuals and groups with diverse perspectives
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Background check
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Problem solver, highly efficient, and detail-oriented
  • Experience working on domestic violence, sexual assault, or related issues.
  • Experience with programs that create compelling video or presentation materials.
  • Experience with data management and analytics
  • Experience working in or with both non-profits and the criminal justice system.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams/collaborative.
  • Experience working under and reporting on grants.
  • Experienced with providing training to professionals.
