Job Summary

The Rehab Tech assists therapy staff in a variety of support roles including helping during physical, occupational, speech, and feeding therapies, maintaining a clean and tidy facility, and working as an alternate with the front office Patient Services staff.

Job Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  • Assists therapists with non-clinical tasks such as treatment set-ups and breakdowns; redirecting patients who have difficulty remaining concentrated; being present in therapy sessions that require the presence of more than one staff member; printing, laminating, and cutting craft items; and other tasks as necessary.
  • Gathers and prepares materials needed for feeding therapy sessions.
  • Maintains, cleans, and sanitizes all toys, equipment, and treatment rooms in the entire Therapy Center and designated parts of the Nursing Center.
  • Resets treatment gyms and equipment after sessions.
  • Primarily responsible for sweeping, mopping, gathering trash, running laundry, and completing kitchen duties.
  • Maintains the organization and orderliness of the facility and grounds.
  • Stands in as an alternate for Patient Services staff, when necessary, appropriately greeting and checking in patients and answering phone calls while maintaining excellent customer service.
  • Completes various errands, including purchase requests, as directed by supervisors.
  • Attends meetings and conferences and participates in other activities to promote professional growth.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); related experience and/or training in an outpatient therapy facility preferred.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic computer skills and the ability to learn new software and web-based applications such as electronic medical records.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider certification with skills testing required; HIPAA certification encouraged.
