Job Summary
POSITION SUMMARY
This position provides coordination and project oversight for the Advancing Workforce Equity grant. This position will supervise grant personnel. The grant coordinator ensures grant goals are attained and tracks all grant activities, outcomes, and participants. This position is also responsible for writing and submitting all required grant reports and assessments.
Job Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/TYPICAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with representatives from all departments that are impacted by the implementation of the grant
- Prepare interim and annual performance reports
- Participating in all mandatory training workshops provided by the Institutional Effectiveness and/or Finance Office: best practices approach to grant management, audit-readiness, year-end closing requirements and yearly retraining, if required and any granting agency training
- Provide a copy of all program reports, grant award documents, completed grant assessments, and any documentation reflecting agency approved revisions to the Vice President of Academic Affairs and Workforce Development and the Finance Office.
- Maintain a calendar of significant deadlines for the grant
- Track program activities, participants, and outcomes
- Organize and direct grant activities
- Implement and maintain grant assessment criteria and reports
- Facilitate communication among all stakeholders (e.g. internal and external partners)
- Ensure compliance with the grant agreement, all applicable federal, state and other regulations listed in the grant award, and adhering to College policies, including those related to year end closing and budget development
- Ensure the budget and associated expenditures accurately reflect the approved budget awarded by the granting agency
- Keep records suitable for audits
- Accurately monitor all expenditures over the course of the grant
- Prepare and submit all required materials and fiscal transactions, program and fiscal reporting connected with the grant, to Budget and including adherence to reporting deadlines
- Supervise grant personnel as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Familiarity with fiscal requirements and budgets of grants
- Strong communication skills (oral, writing, and inter-personal)
- Multi-tasking ability and responsiveness to time-sensitive requests
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently on multiple related projects
- Strong computer skills (Word and Excel required)
- Understanding of evaluation and data needs of education programs
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in program/ grant implementation
- Experience managing federal grants
- Experience with evaluation and data needs of workforce education programs
