Job Summary

Daybreak Arts is seeking a full-time Program Manager who will be responsible for managing the artwork and merchandise inventory database, processing art supply requests and orders, coordinating and managing artistic workshops and exhibitions, assisting in developing artistic curriculum and programming, and tracking artists’ progress. The Program Manager will report to the Executive Director and will supervise the Artist Manager position. The Program Manager will play a key role in shaping the artistic direction of the organization and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, impactful programming.

Our Team: 

We are currently a small, passionate team consisting of 3 full-time staff members—Executive Director, Program Manager (NOW HIRING), and Artist Manager—that value collaboration, creative solutions, and the impact of equitable art access across communities.  We are assisted by volunteers, interns, and our Board of Directors of 14+ people.  We are hopeful that the Program Manager will bring diverse life experiences and innovative ideas to help us form a well-rounded team.

The ideal candidate for the Daybreak Arts’ Program Manager position is someone with diverse life experiences who is interested in building their communication, leadership, and project management skills while gaining experience with a growing arts nonprofit social enterprise. The ideal candidate is someone who embraces challenges with creative problem-solving, likes executing projects from start to finish and thrives in flexibility and autonomy with work.

Job Responsibilities

Management

  • Supervise program personnel, interns, and volunteers by assigning tasks, checking in on progress, and ensuring successful time management and productivity
  • Provide assistance and contributions in strategic plan development and organizational documents, including adherence to and implementation of the plan

Art Coordination

  • Manage artwork and merchandise inventory online (photographing and uploading new inventory, maintaining off-site/shipping disclaimers, adding reproductions from group volunteer projects, rotating visible collections, etc.)
  • Maintain storage and organization of artwork
  • Fulfill online orders and manage the shipping and pick-up processes (Pull sold artwork and merchandise from the gallery to prepare for shipping or pick-up)
  • Coordinate and manage Daybreak Arts Gallery (Installation of new shows, Restocks merchandise, and organizing storefront area) 
  • Coordinate and manage off-site exhibitions (Coordinates all exhibitions by building relationships and determining details with off-site location, selecting artwork, delivering/picking up artwork, installing works when necessary, and keeping an updated list of exhibiting artwork)

Art Education

  • Oversee the development and implementation of Learning Management System and Art & Entrepreneurial Education programming
  • Develop and coordinate in-house or off-site artistic programming and skill- & technique-based workshops and field trips for artists, from basic skills to advanced (including purchasing supplies as needed)

Community Partnerships

  • Establish and maintain relationships with unhoused resource providers 
  • Maintain and further develop partnership(s) with First Art Museum and other programming community partners as outlined in the strategic plan

Studio & Supplies

  • Oversee overall studio organization, logistics, and maintenance
  • Oversee art supply budget and assist the Artist Manager in request fulfillment
  • Coordinate in-kind donations and art supply drives. Document in-kind supply donations
  • Keep the Amazon Art Supply Drive Wish List updated

Marketing & Design

  • Website maintenance and updates to programming-related pages
  • Promotion of artists and exhibitions on social media/newsletters/blogs

Program Development:

  • Help with data collection and program evaluation
  • Provide feedback to the Executive Director on grants that support the organization’s programming.

Additional Information

Benefits

This is a full-time FLSA overtime-exempt salaried position requiring approximately 40 hours per work week (defined as Sunday through Saturday). Employees receive compensatory time when they work extra hours. Your regular weekly schedule is flexible and will be determined by the Executive Director upon hire. This position is hybrid, and the employee can work both at home and in the studio as responsibilities dictate. 

This position’s annual salary range is $40,000-$45,000 with two weeks of PTO the first year increasing each year and 16 paid holidays in addition to paid Fridays off during the summer and the week off between Christmas and New Year’s. Must be available to work some evenings and weekends.
