Our Mission
Gilda’s Club Middle Tennessee’s mission is to ensure all people impacted by cancer are empowered by knowledge, strengthened by action and sustained by community.
Our evidence-based program includes support groups, healthy lifestyle workshops, mind-body classes, social activities, educational lectures, and resource and referral information. Offering approximately 60 professionally led support and networking workshops, and 50 various educational programs and classes each month, Gilda’s Club makes a tangible difference in the lives of those impacted by cancer. We build community so no one has to face cancer alone.
Program Associate – Part-Time
The Program Associate is a cross-functional role working seamlessly with the marketing and program teams to engage our community and cultivate new volunteer and program opportunities for the organization.
This position will focus on program volunteer coordination.
Position reports to: Program Director
Job Responsibilities
- Communicate with the program team to plan and schedule volunteers for the monthly Gilda’s Club program calendar.
- Maintain running program calendar document for organization wide distribution.
- Communicate with the Marketing Associate to complete all processes related to creation, production, and delivery of the monthly print and email program calendar.
- Recruit, engage, and steward volunteers in delivery of cancer support programs.
- Maintains volunteer information in Gilda’s Club database.
- Represents Gilda’s Club at volunteer recruitment events.
- Coordinate and schedules volunteer training and provide on-going training as needed.
- Gather volunteer and program data for quarterly reports.
- Serve as first point of contact in Member Relations role one day a week.
- Purchase office, clubhouse, and workshop supplies
- Other duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree Required
- Minimum of 1-2 years of related experience
- Personal qualities of integrity and dedication to Gilda’s Club’s mission.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work independently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: specifically, Excel
- Familiarity with CRMs/Donor Databases (Gilda’s Club Middle Tennessee uses Donor Perfect
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Excellent verbal and written skills with ability to present information effectively.
- A multitasker with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
