Our Mission  

Gilda’s Club Middle Tennessee’s mission is to ensure all people impacted by cancer are empowered by knowledge, strengthened by action and sustained by community.

Our evidence-based program includes support groups, healthy lifestyle workshops, mind-body classes, social activities, educational lectures, and resource and referral information. Offering approximately 60 professionally led support and networking workshops, and 50 various educational programs and classes each month, Gilda’s Club makes a tangible difference in the lives of those impacted by cancer. We build community so no one has to face cancer alone.

Marketing and Data Associate – Part-Time   

Marketing & Data Associate is a cross-functional role working seamlessly with the internal teams to support all marketing-related efforts to engage our community and new prospects through social media platforms, email communications, and various marketing materials. This position will focus on the creation and execution of marketing the program activities of Gilda’s Club.

Positions reports to: Director of Marketing & Communications  

Job Responsibilities

Marketing:

  • Assist in preparing monthly emails for volunteer opportunities, the program team, and Gilda Gram.
  • Work with the Program Associate to complete all processes related to creation, production, and delivery of the monthly print and email program calendar.
  • Execute social media posting and monitoring of Gilda’s Club Members’ Facebook Group.
  • Ensure all marketing assets including images, logos, videos, documents, and other marketing related content are organized and archived.
  • Work with the Director of Marketing & Communications to identify and develop new strategies to broaden the organization’s visibility.

Data:

  • Support the Director of Marketing & Communications in the collection, reporting and interpretation of marketing data to help inform both marketing and development strategic decisions.
  • Assist in compiling and maintaining digital and print mailing lists for marketing and development campaigns.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Personal qualities of integrity and dedication to the Gilda’s Club mission.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Digital Media, or similar field required.

1-2 years of experience in social media marketing, marketing, copywriting, online fundraising at an agency or nonprofit organization.

  • Proficient in social media, with a proven experience using Google Analytics and Meta Business Suite and social scheduling platforms
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, online search engines and developing and administering web content.
  • Create and edit basic images in Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience with WordPress and CRMs.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent time-management and follow-through skills.
  • Solid grammar, editing and proofreading capabilities.
  • Think strategically and conceptualize creatively.
  • Project management skills with ability to manage workflow processes and schedules.
  • Oral and written communication abilities.

Not Required, but nice to have: 

  • Knowledge/understanding of the nonprofit sector
  • Experience with CRM Donor Perfect
  • Knowledge of social platform Buffer
