Job Summary

The Market Director (MD) manages the Middle TN market to meet revenue goals of more than $2M, partnering closely with the Executive Director. With a lead responsibility to expand corporate partnerships statewide, the MD portfolio focuses primarily on corporate executives and foundation grants. Additional focus on growth includes supporter pipeline development statewide through Community Engagement. Reporting to the ED, the MD supervises three staff with a hybrid schedule in the Brentwood, TN, office.

Job Responsibilities

Portfolio management

  • Manage a portfolio of Corporate and individual prospects to cultivate supporters toward a gift of support.
  • Oversee qualification and identification to build relationships to further engage supporters; strategize touchpoint plan for each opportunity.
  • Track and forecasting completed in CRM in a timely manner.
  • Meet goals for revenue, new supporters, and retention. 

MTN market management

  • Define a strategy to meet market revenue goals and engage Volunteer Leaders.
  • Oversee Signature Events + Peer to Peer programs, working with national partners and leading staff teams to meet micro goals.
  • Oversee forecasting and budgeting for the MTN market.

Lead pipeline growth

  • Work with a national partner on a strategy for Community Engagement Manager to meet KPIs for a newly diagnosed outreach program.
  • Supervise activation of volunteers and health care providers, including Type One Nation education events.

Lead Corporate Development

  • Provide direction for corporate partnership expansion, working closely with national partners.
  • Mentor managers to encourage expansion of partnership beyond sponsorship.
  • Recruit and manage Corporate Committee with revenue goal; oversee business breakfast.

Chapter Leadership Team

  • Maintain a solid understanding of the organization’s mission and progress.
  • Serve on the chapter staff Leadership Team (Executive Director and Development Directors) to ensure cohesive volunteer engagement and collaborative support to meet KPIs; support annual budget development, implementation, forecasting, and evaluation.
  • Analyze the effectiveness of programs/events with discussions with key stakeholders to assess impact/needs.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of fundraising experience with demonstrated success in generating revenue.
  • 5+ years of direct supervisory responsibility.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required. CFRE is a plus.
  • Expertise in data analysis and motivating staff with data.
  • Solid understanding of budgets and profit and loss statements.
  • Team player with the ability to interface with all levels of staff and volunteers.
  • Familiarity with volunteer/staff partnerships in achieving desired outcomes.
  • Capability to leverage relationships and negotiate agreements.
  • Exceptional management, leadership, and team-building skills.
  • Superior active listening, observation, analytical, and problem recognition and solving skills.
  • Understanding of computer systems and databases. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint), knowledge of Salesforce a plus.
  • Excellent written, oral, and communication skills. Ability for presentation delivery, conveying ideas, and instructing effectively.
  • Occasional evening and weekend work is required as needed.
