Job Summary

About Music Health Alliance

Music Health Alliance’s mission is to #HealTheMusic by providing access to healthcare through services that PROTECT, DIRECT, and CONNECT music professionals with medical and financial solutions. Based in Nashville, MHA is the only healthcare-centered nonprofit organization serving the music industry nationwide. We’ve provided healthcare advocacy and support at no cost to more than 25,000 clients and saved the music community more than $129M by providing advocacy and access to life-saving transplants, medicine, mental health resources, end-of-life care, and many other necessary services.

Job Responsibilities

The Manager of Advocacy & Insurance is the heart of MHA’s care team, offering compassionate and competent support to our clients, and showing a dedication to helping protect and bolster the health and wellbeing of those in the music industry. The Manager of Advocacy & Insurance supports clients by providing empathetic, comprehensive, and knowledgeable guidance and hands-on assistance tailored to each client’s unique healthcare needs.

The Manager of Advocacy & Insurance provides invaluable assistance for clients by exploring health insurance plans, providing clarity about viable options, and ensuring clients have the information they need to make informed decisions about their – and their family’s – health care. The Manager of Advocacy & Insurance also works to protect clients from the financial burden of overwhelming medical debt, guiding clients and advocating for them in the negotiation and reduction of medical bills.

Beyond helping protect the financial health of clients in the form of health insurance and medical bill assistance, the Manager of Advocacy & Insurance also provides compassionate expertise to clients who are seeking vital, and often lifesaving, care by offering guidance and direct advocacy with providers, facilities, and health insurers on clients’ behalf. And when a health crisis also creates financial turmoil – as it so often does – the Manager of Advocacy & Insurance supports clients in crisis by compiling resources and assisting clients with financial relief applications to help cover medical bills and living expenses during their difficult season.

In moments of need and uncertainty for our clients, the Manager of Advocacy & Insurance is a compassionate and competent ally and advocate, ensuring clients don’t have to walk their path alone.
