As the largest nonprofit in Tennessee offering the full continuum of care (detox through independent living), we stand out for our unique approach to addiction recovery. The Human Resource Manager at Mending Hearts plays a crucial role in our organization. They develop policies and direct and coordinate human resource activities, such as employment compensation, benefits, training, onboarding, and other employee services. This role is instrumental in ensuring our team is well-supported and can focus on our mission of helping women restore their lives from addiction.

Job Responsibilities

  • Analyzes wage and salary reports and data to determine competitive compensation plans.
  • Ensure policies comply with federal and state law, accreditations, and licensure requirements.
  • Develops and maintains a human resources system that meets top management information needs.
  • Oversees the analysis, maintenance, and communication of records required by law local governing bodies, or other departments in the organization.
  • Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting compliance.
  • Recruits, screens, contacts references, interviews (along with department supervisor and leadership team members), and recommends employees to fill vacant positions.
  • Plans and conducts new employee orientation to onboard new hires
  • Keeps records of benefits plan participation, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, training, and employee statistics for government reporting.
  • Advises management on the appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Administers a performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within the organization.
  • Trains supervisor on performance evaluation best practices and policy.
  • Administers salary administration program to ensure compliance and equity within the organization.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree from a four‐year college or university; Experience over two years may be substituted toward education (1:1) Two years related experience; Must have a working knowledge of employment laws; PHR or SPHR Certification is a plus. Industry experience in behavioral health, nonprofit, and/or healthcare is also a plus.
