We are looking for a dynamic Grants Manager to join the FiftyForward team.  This is a full-time position with regular weekday hours, Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm, with the ability to occasionally work flexible hours depending on needs and events. This is a hybrid remote position with a minimum of three days in the office.

In this role, you will oversee and manage FiftyForward’s grant process and serve as the technical expert on grants administration.  In collaboration with Program and Center directors, the Grants Manager will be responsible for writing and submitting grant proposals, follow-up reports, and researching new foundation opportunities. Reporting to the Director of Development, the Grants Manager will be the liaison, when appropriate, to foundation partners and help FiftyForward build relationships and partnerships.

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee and direct the grants program, including grant research, writing, management, and reporting.  Ensure applications and reports are error free and meet the criteria requirements.
  • Oversee grant management activities including application deadlines, funding contracts, annual schedule of grants, reporting process, sending quarterly and/or annual financial reports to funding organizations in partnership with the finance department, monitor grant proposals from beginning to fulfillment, and grant closeout.
  • Manage the grant funder portfolio to ensure diverse revenue channels.
  • Write proposals/grants; send letters to corporations, foundations, and other related organizations securing gifts for programs and centers as budgeted.
  • Provide policy guidance and assistance with proposal development, administrative supporting documents, and compliance requirements.
  • Assist the Development Director in reaching organization’s fundraising goals.
  • Determine the grant/foundation annual budget; deliver monthly/quarterly updates and progress reports to Development Director.
  • Submit additional progress reports as needed and directed by funding
  • Conduct ongoing prospect research to identify potential grant funding sources from local, regional, and national agencies.
  • Maintain effective ongoing stewardship and year-round communication with existing funders as part of the cultivation cycle.
  • Maintain accurate data in donor database. Develop working knowledge of donor database and provide back-up for the management of and data reporting from the donor database.
  • Develop working knowledge of other agency databases and establishes collaborative relationships with Supportive Care and Lifelong Learning Center staff to help facilitate data collection, report generation, and program outcome creation as those activities relate to development duties.

Qualifications

What we require:

  • Bachelor’s in Marketing, English, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience successfully writing grants and managing a grant program.
  • Experience in nonprofit grants management and federal or state grants preferred.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in post-award grant management; a combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with proficiency, accuracy, and successful deadline management.
  • Proficient computer skills, MS Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook).
  • Proven ability to think critically and solve problems autonomously.
  • Proven ability to be flexible and work cooperatively with a wide range of staff, members, constituents, and funders.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion, be adaptable to various competing demands, and demonstrate the highest level of customer/client service and response.
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making capability.
  • Ability to work effectively with older adults, staff, colleagues and volunteers.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • A valid TN driver’s license, able to obtain F endorsement on driver’s license, appropriate automobile insurance, and reliable transportation.
