Job Summary

Position: Facilities Manager

Position Summary: Management of Church’s Physical Properties

Classification: Exempt

Hours: 25-30/week

Compensation:  $24.00/hr.

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain master building use calendar;  schedule building access, including the distribution of keys as needed
  • Maintain updates to the building’s security system, virtual building access system, and security cameras
  • Maintain positive relationships with building users, vendors, and congregation relative to building use
  • Primary interface with building users to problem solve, determine repair needs, provide input on proposed contract terms and conditions,  and determine building use in conjunction with church property needs.  
  • Manage property vendors, including scheduling property maintenance
  • Manage inspections relative to fire, safety, and codes. Work with vendors to address issues, and maintain required certifications 
  • Work closely with Property Committee chair and team on property repairs, and projects; assist in preparing annual property budget for approval 
  • Work closely with the Emergency Response Task Force/Safety Committee to update policies and procedures, and to schedule safety trainings as needed. Maintain first aid supplies for building users and staff. 
  • Supervise property repairs as approved pursuant to the policy
  • Verify property invoices and submit them for payment
  • Maintain Commercial Liability Insurance for vendors and work with Administrator on annual policy for Second insurance relative to property and liability. Is familiar with liability issues and works to address these issues
  • Serve as primary contact for weddings and overnight visitors, arranging adequate staffing and payment
  • Maintain and order janitorial and property supplies and serve as primary contact for janitorial staff
  • Provide support for administrative duties as needed
  • On-site to provide support on Sundays during Sunday School, worship services, and congregational meetings (approximately 5 hours)
  • Assist with set-up of tables and chairs for Sunday events in Activity Center scheduled meetings and special events during the week and on Sunday mornings 
  • Attend weekly staff meetings on Tuesday mornings
  • Attend monthly  regularly scheduled property committee meetings


  • Ability to work independently and coordinate multiple projects to meet deadlines.  
  • Ability to organize work and prioritize to meet deadlines.
  • Must have some flexibility in the schedule 
  • Must have some computer knowledge (Microsoft Office, Google Docs, etc. and comfort with basic a/v equipment such as LCD projectors.

Purchase of Insurance through the PC(USA) Plan is available at the employee’s cost.

This job has a flexible schedule, but the set days required on the property are Sunday morning and Tuesday mornings.
