Job Summary

The Executive Director will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for Begin Anew’s staff, programs, campus locations, and expansion projects in accordance with the core values, mission, and vision of Begin Anew. The Executive Director will develop a deep knowledge of the field, educational programs, funding resources, and administrative operations of the organization. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Leads, coaches, develops and retains a high-performance leadership team and support staff to execute the mission and vision of Begin Anew, communicating regularly with all to align goals.
  • Ensures ongoing local student programming excellence, rigorous educational program evaluation, and consistent quality in finance, operations, fundraising, communications, and computer systems.
  • Executes the Strategic Plan of Begin Anew providing regular status reports to the Board of Directors.
  • Implements the annual operating budget alongside the Board Finance Committee and bookkeeper.
  • Strengthens collaborations with church partners for the purpose of donated space, financial partnerships, student referrals, and volunteerism.
  • Expands local revenue-generating and fundraising activities to support existing program operations while ensuring that services and funding relationships are robust enough to meet or exceed strategic goals and objectives.
  • Uses quantitative and qualitative data while managing the oversight of all databases to ensure measurement of the effectiveness of the educational program components and key performance metrics then communicates results to the Board of Directors, funders, and other constituents in a timely manner.
  • Develops, maintains, and supports a strong Board of Directors and serves as ex-officio of committees; seeks and builds Board involvement with strategic organizational direction.
  • Represents Begin Anew at community events, church speaking engagements, media invitations, local businesses, and other opportunities to raise awareness and build brand recognition.
  • Participates in the GOAL Collective to maintain and expand relationships with local adult education partners, creates referral opportunities, and determines best practices for the organization by aligning with local and national adult education standards.
  • Works with the bookkeeper, outside CPAs, and Board Finance Committee to perform an annual audit, file the 990, send consolidated annual giving reports for IRS compliance, and submit the Annual Report to the TN Secretary of State.
  • Displays a passion for sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ and a willingness to sign Begin Anew’s Statement of Faith.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: College degree (BS/BA) or equivalent experience. 

Experience: Minimum of 7 years related experience, with 5 years of supervisory experience. Proven leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, both written and oral: ability to engage a wide range of individuals and build long-term relationships

Other: Proficient with MS Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Experience with CRMs: Donor Perfect, SalesForce, and SharePoint (preferred)

This position reports to the Begin Anew Board of Directors.

This position reports to the Begin Anew Board of Directors

Salary from $75,000-85,000 annually, with an additional stipend toward health insurance and generous PTO.

This is a full-time position Monday-Friday 8a-4:30p.

Some weekend availability is required, and some functions of the position require travel with the Middle TN area.
