Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Assistant Head of School for Finance and Operations and in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Job Responsibilities
Benefits Administration
- Successfully managed and coordinated benefit programs (Health, Dental, Vision, Wellness, Section 125, 403(b) Retirement Plan, LTD, Life/AD&D, supplemental plans, and COBRA) for employees, including all employee communication, problem-solving, and claims resolution.
- Ensure all plans comply with applicable laws and statutes (HIPPA, ERISA, and IRS guidelines).
- Research and implement new supplemental benefit programs as needed
- Assist in the development of the insurance budget and negotiate contracts on an annual basis with the Chief Financial Officer.
- Prepare/edit Summary Plan Descriptions as needed for plan changes and legal compliance.
- Prepare for retirement plan audit and respond to auditor requests.
- Manage annual open enrollment for Health, Dental, and Section 125 Plans.
Payroll
- Manage HRIS – onboarding/hiring, employee benefit selection/changes, and monthly payroll processing
- Work with third parties to integrate and update systems with HRIS
- Provide information and answer employee questions about payroll-related matters
- Manage electronic timekeeping and review timesheets
- Maintain employee compensation records and update HRIS accordingly.
- Process monthly payroll
Employee Relations
- Coordinate employee handbook management for the School
- Develop/edit/update job descriptions for all non-faculty employees. Complete periodic job description audits and reclassified employees as appropriate under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state statutes/laws such as FMLA, ADA, Sexual Harassment, OSHA, Worker’s Compensation, Title VII, and ERISA.
- Manage employee separation process for both voluntary/involuntary terminations.
- Manage recruitment lifecycle, posting open positions, preparing employee offers and contracts, onboarding, and conducting new hire orientations.
- Manage employee historical data for reporting and preparation of annual service awards.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of the Faculty Salary/Compensation Scale.
- Provide training for department heads and team leaders on various HR topics, including interviewing skills, performance reviews, interviewing skills, performance reviews, and employee coaching. Manage training Sexual Harassment Prevention and Bloodborne Pathogens training for all employees.
- Manage Worker’s Compensation program (file claims, follow-up, etc.)

Qualifications
Requirements:
- BS Degree in HR or related field
- PHR preferred.
- Proficiency in Excel and Word is a must. Knowledge of HRIS
