Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Director of Development to lead our fundraising efforts. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in nonprofit development, grant writing, donor relations, and strategic planning. As the Director of Development, you will play a crucial role in securing financial support to advance our mission and drive sustainable growth. The primary responsibility is the planning, oversight, and implementation of the overall fundraising process for Project Connect.   

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy aligned with organizational goals. 
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, and foundations. 
  • Identify and pursue grant opportunities, prepare grant proposals, and manage reporting requirements. 
  • Plan and execute fundraising events, campaigns, and donor appreciation activities. 
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director, the leadership team, and the board of directors to ensure fundraising targets are met. 
  • Monitor fundraising metrics, analyze trends, and adjust strategies as needed. 
  • Provide leadership to the development team, including staff and volunteers. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Master’s preferred). 
  • Minimum of three years of experience in nonprofit fundraising and development. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Proficiency in grant writing and donor stewardship. 
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders. 
  • Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset. 
  • Familiarity with fundraising software and databases, particularly Salesforce. 
  • Passion, professionalism, and team-oriented. 
  • Ability to interact with major and monthly donors, foundations, supporting churches, employment partners, and government partners.
