Job Summary

We have a hybrid work environment.

The primary responsibility of this position is to serve as an expert resource for data analysis and analytics to support THA advocacy efforts, internal operations, and THA member requests for analysis and research.

Job Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

  1. The ability to adapt to a changing work environment and meet challenges presented throughout the day.
  2. Organize, analyze, and aggregate hospital patient-level and financial data
  3. Respond to data and product related inquiries quickly to support internal teams and hospital stakeholders
  4. Provide expertise and translate business needs into the design and development of reports, visualizations, and analyses
  5. Create and manage reports and dashboards within PowerBI and other platforms
  6. Serve as the primary point of contact for new projects, working to ensure timeliness and quality
  7. Assist in the development of project requirements, analytic plans, project timelines, and other related materials for the management of deliverables
  8. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to manage data logistics, including data transfers, understanding data structures, ETL processes, etc.
  9. QA/QC data and report output to ensure accuracy
  10. Present reports to key internal and external stakeholders, effectively communicating the key findings and recommendations
  11. Evaluate data systems and offer creative ideas to improve existing workflows and processes
  12. Manage multiple projects concurrently to ensure successful completion of analytic projects
  13. Must be available in the office during regular office hours unless job responsibilities require otherwise, or hybrid work arrangement is in place

Qualifications

Educational and experience Requirements Needed to Perform the Duties of the Job:

  1. Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience in data analysis, epidemiology, statistics, data science or related fields required
  2. Experience working in a healthcare setting preferred
  3. Consideration given to IT certifications, Project Management Professional or similar certification, healthcare or public health certifications, or experience working in a department of health

Skills Required to Perform the Duties of the Job:

  1. Proficient in SAS and/or SQL; minimum 3 years of experience
  2. Working experience and knowledge in PowerBI, Tableau, SSRS, R, Python or other data visualization technologies
  3. Knowledge of UB-04 claims data (ICD-9, ICD-10, DRG, HCPCS, CPT)
  4. Acute attention to detail (QA/QC)
  5. Solid planning, priority setting, and project management skills with experience managing multiple projects and resources concurrently
  6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and good at developing relationships (including with clinical, technical, and marketing resources)
  7. Highly motivated and collaborative
  8. Effective organization and time management skills
