Job Summary

FiftyForward has an excellent opportunity for a Director, Center and Community Outreach.  This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday, with the ability to work early morning, evenings, and weekends on occasion.

As a member of the leadership team, you will provide leadership in all aspects of program operations including planning, implementing, administering and evaluating programs and services, and supervise program staff.  You will work with FiftyForward senior leadership, constituents, and community partners to secure and develop various resources to operate and strengthen services to older adults through the Knowles Center, FiftyForward Fresh/Meals on Wheels, and other programs in the community.

Job Responsibilities

  • Establish, develop, and maintain beneficial working relationships within the community (business, religious, educational, social service, and senior population) promoting a positive image of aging and FiftyForward, analyzing older adult needs, and extending the services of FiftyForward into the area surrounding the Knowles Center and South Nashville.
  • Share in the planning and overall management and functioning of FiftyForward as a member of the leadership team.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of innovative, highest-quality, best practice programs and services for older adults.
  • Direct all aspects of daily operations for FiftyForward Fresh and Knowles including Food Security Program outreach and service delivery, FiftyForward Fresh meal preparation and food safety regulations. Fill in for staff as necessary to accomplish work of the programs.
  • Collaborate with the FiftyForward Friends Adult Day Services (ADS) Director to ensure adherence to ADS licensing requirements at the Patricia Hart Building.
  • Participate in annual budgeting process and oversees program revenues and expenses in accord with the agency approved budget.
  • Recruit, train, supervise and evaluate FiftyForward Fresh and Knowles staff and volunteers to ensure programs operate smoothly in accordance with applicable licensing and grant requirements to meet or exceed agency, constituent, and funder expectations.
  • Prepare and submit in a timely manner, accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on the number of persons served, number of paid members, units and types of service provided and progress toward meeting annual goals and objectives. Ensure practices and records comply with agency and funding source requirements.
  • Ensure that all program, membership, attendance, outreach, and financial goal are met on an annual basis.
  • Perform administrative program functions including preparation, monitoring and collection of fees and implementation of satisfaction surveys and other evaluations.
  • Staff Knowles Advisory Council and other administrative program committees as necessary.
  • Work with FiftyForward Patricia Hart Building staff regarding space utilization, maintaining ultimate decision-making authority with respect to first floor space utilization. Maintains overall responsibility for building maintenance and facility needs.
  • Participate in professional associations within the senior services field and participates actively in the business and professional community.
  • Intentionally build relationships with other FiftyForward programs (i.e. All of Us, Care Team, Foster Grandparent) to assist in overall development/support of FiftyForward.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Skills

  • Excellent communication (verbal/written).
  • Demonstrated skills in organizational management and leadership.
  • Proficient computer skills, MS Office 365.
  • Ability to work effectively and attentively with older adults, staff, colleagues, and volunteers.
  • Proven ability to be flexible and work cooperatively with a wide range of constituents and stakeholders.
  • Promote and uphold FiftyForward’s mission of supporting, championing, and enhancing life for those 50 and older.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Social Services, Health, or related fields.  Master’s degree preferred.
  • 4 – 7 years’ experience in a social services agency.
  • 4 – 7 years of supervisory experience.
  • 1 – 3 years’ experience working with older adults.
  • Experience working in a non-profit social services agency preferred.
  • CPR and ServSafe certified or willing to be trained.
  • Maintain knowledge of AED (defibrillator).
  • A valid TN driver’s license and appropriate automobile insurance.
