OUR MISSION

A Step Ahead Foundation of Middle Tennessee prevents unplanned pregnancy by providing education and access to free, long-acting reversible contraception (LARC).

OUR VISION

A Step Ahead improves educational, economic, and health outcomes for women and children in Middle Tennessee. By providing education and completely free access to long-acting reversible contraception (LARC), we enable women to plan their lives. By helping women avoid unplanned pregnancies, we hope to increase positive pregnancy outcomes for both the mother and the child, lower infant mortality, and improve family life. By connecting women with effective family planning, we hope to encourage education and career opportunities for women.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage Donor Data: Ensure accurate, complete, and unduplicated donor information through management of the donor database
  • Provide Reporting for Donor Data: Provide accurate and timely data analysis and reporting on donors and fundraising revenues
  • Annual Fundraising Plan: In partnership with the Executive Director, update pacing toward goals each month and support the Executive Director by sending deadline reminders for grants, sponsorship inquiries, or any other deadline-driven project that is connected to fundraising 
  • Acknowledge Donors and Donations: Ensure that donors are thanked appropriately and that all tax-exempt donations and grants are acknowledged in a timely fashion.
  • Support the Board of Directors:  Serve as the staff liaison for the board development committee and provide administrative support for board meetings and other board activities
  • Giving Matters: maintain accurate information on the Giving Matters profile and help ensure all documents are uploaded on time
  • Execute Annual Giving Campaign: Manage the production of one annual fundraising mail campaign, including the creation of mailing lists, segmenting of donors when appropriate, design print elements, and coordinating printing and mailing.
  • Estimated time 20 hours/per week between September – and November
  • Support Events: Provide support to the Executive Director for fundraising and donor-related events, including creation and management of invitations, event planning and logistics, and post-event data entry and follow-up.
  • Annual event likely March 2024, estimated 20/hrs per week January – February.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with the Nashville community
  • Proven ability to meet multiple deadlines and communicate effectively while working independently and remotely
  • Ability to work with a team
  • Previous experience working in databases
  • Previous experience working with and using Canva, Slack, G-suite, Zoom, and other team collaboration tools

Benefits

Compensation is $30/hour.

$50 monthly stipend for internet connectivity.
