Position Summary:  The Data Analyst is responsible for supporting the Community Impact department through data collection, synthesis, and analysis. This position will manage UWGN’s grant management system and impact. The position is responsible for analyzing data across all UWGN programs and initiatives, establishing linkages, and telling UW’s story of collaborative impact. The position is responsible for creating and maintaining a central repository for Community Impact outcome data.

Data Analyst Tasks:

  • Collaborate with team members to collect, synthesize, and analyze data across multiple data platforms.
  • Monitor key performance indicators to map UW’s impact year over year.
  • Create and maintain a central repository of Community Impact outcome data.
  • Create regular reports to include graphs, infographics, and other data visualization tools to share internally and externally.
  • Contribute data to support grant proposals.
  • Use data to establish linkages to tell a story across all funded programs of United Way.
  • Evaluate data and share key findings.
  • Work with the marketing team to contribute data to the annual report.
  • Manage and maximize the use of the grant management system, currently eCImpact, including building forms, funding applications, and data collection processes.
  • Communicate data collection and processes to nonprofit partners and staff, e.g. emailing reminders about upcoming reporting deadlines.
  • Create nonprofit partner surveys to assess the effectiveness of processes and procedures.
  • Conduct training with nonprofit partners and staff related to clean data and reporting procedures, e.g. midyear report training. 
  • Work with staff to streamline and facilitate data processes and collection in keeping with current outcome frameworks.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or 3 years of equivalent experience in this field

Experience:

  • 3+ years in a data-related field
  • Experience developing and maintaining databases.
  • Experience performing data analysis, using data to tell a meaningful story.
  • Experience identifying, analyzing, and interpreting data patterns and trends.
  • Experience creating dashboards and reports to communicate with management.
  • Experience using data visualization tools to represent data in a clear and easily understood format.
  • Project Management skills
  • Proficiency with grant management systems and Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools, e.g., Power BI

Environmental Conditions and Physical Demands:

  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. The employee is required to stand, walk, climb, and balance.
  • The employee spends the majority of their time seated, working in front of a computer monitor.  Manual dexterity is sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers.
  • Well-lighted, heated, and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation.
  • **Note** This position is a hybrid 3 days in the office, 2 days working from home
