Job Summary

The Nashville Tree Conservation Corps, a non profit with a mission to protect, preserve and plant Nashville’s trees, is seeking treasurer to serve on the Executive Committee as treasurer.  NTCC has contracted Imagine New ,an accounting firm who works with non-profits, to provide basic accounting services. As treasurer, you will work to assist the Executive Director in providing Imagine New with accurate information and oversee the financial stabillity of NTCC

Job Responsibilities

NTCC’s executive committee meets via zoom on a monthly basis.  As treasurer, you will work with the Executive to create a yearly budget and provide quartering reviews to the NTCC board.  Addditionally, you will give an overview of NTCC’s financal pacing against the annual budget on a monthly basis.  Any expenses proposed outside of the budget will need to be vetted and approved by the Executive Committee.  The following services are provided by Imagine New:

  • Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare financial statements including monthly and annual reporting.
  • Ensures financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.
  • Prepares financial management reports as requested by the Controller and Chief Finance Officer.
  • Ensures accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year end close processes.

Checks written above $1,000 must have either the signature of the Treasurer or the Chairman of the board

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Experience working with computerized accounting systems.
  • Two or more years of experience in the management of financial systems and budgets, financial reporting, financial data analysis, and auditing
