Board Member



Job Summary

Board members of Woman 2 Woman are responsible for providing strategic guidance, oversight, and governance to advance the organization’s mission of empowering women and youth. They actively participate in board meetings, committees, programs, and fundraising efforts to support the organization’s programs and initiatives.

Job Responsibilities

  • Attend and actively participate in board meetings, committee meetings, and other organizational events.
  • Provide strategic guidance and input to help shape the organization’s goals, policies, and initiatives.
  • Review and approve the organization’s annual budget, financial reports, and strategic plans.
  • Support fundraising efforts by identifying potential donors, making personal contributions, and participating in fundraising events.
  • Serve as ambassadors for Woman 2 Woman by promoting its mission and programs within the community and advocating for its goals and objectives.
  • Monitor the organization’s performance and impact, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Participate in the recruitment of board members.
  • Fulfill fiduciary responsibilities by acting in the best interests of the organization and its constituents.
  • Stay informed about relevant issues, trends, and developments in the nonprofit sector and areas related to the organization’s mission.
  • Uphold confidentiality and maintain the trust of stakeholders, respecting sensitive information shared within the board and organization.


  • Passion for Empowering Women and Youth: Demonstrated commitment to the organization’s mission of empowering women and youth to succeed after life-changing events.
  • Expertise in Relevant Fields: Experience or expertise in areas such as nonprofit management, social work, counseling, legal, finance, fundraising, marketing, or program development.
  • Diversity and Inclusion: A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with a willingness to advocate for marginalized communities and ensure their voices are represented in decision-making processes.
  • Strategic Thinker: Ability to think strategically and contribute to the development and implementation of the organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Collaborative Team Player: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a diverse team of board members, staff, and stakeholders.
  • Commitment and Availability: Willingness to dedicate time and resources to board service, including attending regular meetings, participating in committees, and programs, and supporting fundraising and advocacy efforts.
  • Integrity and Ethical Leadership: High ethical standards and integrity, with a commitment to acting in the best interests of the organization and its constituents at all times.
