Family Reconciliation Center

Board member

Family Reconciliation Center

Job Summary

Our board members help set policy for FRC and, depending on their interests, can help with outreach, house management, finance, fundraising, hospitality and other areas. We meet once a month. We run a five-bedroom guest house for people visiting their loved ones in prison. There is no charge, and many guests who stay at Family Reconciliation Center return often and form lifelong friendships with other guests. We also offer a community pantry, toiletries, coffee and tea service, and travel necessities—all for free.

Job Responsibilities

The board meets once a month to set policy for the Family Reconciliation Center. Members also serve on committees that help with outreach, house management, finance, fundraising, hospitality and other areas. We are a volunteer-run organization, so we rely on board members to provide a few hours each month to help us sustain our mission.

We are looking for folks who feel passionately about helping families and friends visit their loved ones who are incarcerated.

Additional Information

Opportunity to serve with enthusiastic, committed volunteers who help run our guest house. Everything about visiting the prisons is difficult. We strive to be the one thing that isn’t difficult — we provide our guests a supportive, safe place to stay and fellowship with others whose loved ones are incarcerated.
