Job Summary
The Advantage System Specialist will be responsible for ensuring stability, proper configuration, and ideal functionality for the Advantage system to equip staff and ensure the proper setup for daily operational activities. This specialist will monitor daily automated tests and find resolutions with reported errors. The specialist will be the point person for Advantage-related questions, issues, and bugs and the lead for finding resolution.
This is a remote work-from-home position.
Job Responsibilities
Configures and manages the use of the Advantage system across the whole of TUR, including making initial diagnoses of any reported problems, assisting in resolving data and configuration issues, coordinating the testing and deployment of Advantage releases, ensuring adequate training of end users, and following proper operating, backup, and restart/recovery procedures.
Understand in detail the processing flows, integrations with Advantage, file structures/relationships, data schemas, and screen layouts of all the Advantage software modules utilized by The Upper Room. Maintains general knowledge and expertise of Advantage software functionality and configuration as an internal resource.
Collaborates & communicates with supervisor, staff, and ACS vendor regularly to resolve issues, completes projects, and handles daily operations. This involves communicating via chat, phone, video calls, email, project management tools, etc. Attends necessary training to perform the role adequately.
Provides Advantage maintenance and support for TUR personnel. Acts as the point person for questions and issues related to the Advantage system, including reporting to ACS Support any software bugs or requests with clear detail and identifying the level of urgency and priority of each request.
Monitors system tests for errors in processing, configuration, and data. Works to find resolutions to failed tests in a timely manner coordinating with TUR personnel as needed. Identifies cases where new tests are needed and configures them.
Qualifications
Education: Associate degree (or equivalent) in systems administration, computer science, computer engineering, or related IT field.
Other Experience:
2+ years related experience as a systems administrator/specialist.
2+ years working with SQL and relational databases
Other Areas:
- Proficiency in SQL and working with relational databases is a requirement.
- Report writing experience.
- Experience working with executive leadership to manage technology and end-user expectations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse executive team and external product experts.
- Developing leadership and management skills.
- Experience designing technical solutions and documenting technical specifications.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
