Job Summary
Position Title: Full Charge Accountant
Department: Finance & Accounting
Reports To: Managing Director
Position Designation: Part-time. 16-20 hours a week.
Hourly Rate: $35.00/hour

The Full Charge Accountant is responsible for performing a variety of accounting-related functions, including accounts payable, monthly account reconciliations, journal entry processing, preparing biweekly payroll, financial reporting, and cash flow management

The Full Charge Accountant is responsible for performing a variety of accounting-related functions, including accounts payable, monthly account reconciliations, journal entry processing, preparing biweekly payroll, financial reporting, and cash flow management.
Job Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Issue all payments weekly for the Junior League’s operating account.
- Record all deposits.
- Work with the Treasurer to enter committee budgets and the overall JLN annual budget on a timely basis.
- Help prepare, deliver, and review committee budgets with Committee Chairs regularly.
- Review and process bi-weekly employee payroll to ensure accuracy. Ensure the allocation and payment of pension funds to employee retirement accounts.
- Calculate and pay Tennessee sales tax due every quarter.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, including balance sheet and income statements, investment accounts, and cash flow for Board review.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts and projections as needed.
- Work with and prepare documentation for auditors.
- Prepare documentation for 990.
- Prepare yearly analysis of endowments for possible withdrawals.
- Attend quarterly trustee meetings,
Qualifications
Specific Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Traits
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles for nonprofit accounting,
- Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, ability to meet deadlines and maintain accuracy,
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality with sensitive information,
- Excellent decision-making skills and the ability to analyze data and solve problems,
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills,
- Ability to build strong work relationships with various stakeholder groups, and adapt to various leadership styles
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of accounting experience is required
- Associate/Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- Experience with Quickbooks Online
- Proficient with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
