Job Summary

As the Youth & Family Director at THE YMCA OF CLARKSVILLE, you’ll play a key role in creating impactful programs for youth, families, and teens, all while embracing our Christian mission and vision. Working closely with other YMCA staff and reporting to the Executive Director, you’ll lead the planning, development, and execution of various programs, including potential revenue-generating initiatives. Your responsibilities will span from managing expenses and staff training to boosting membership and fundraising efforts, with a focus on maintaining our facilities. Job Responsibilities

  • Model the YMCA core values: Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility
  • Manage budget, hiring, training, and staff oversight, ensuring a positive work environment.
  • Keep programs safe and clean, evaluating their success and community impact.
  • Represent YMCA in the community, building partnerships and enhancing programs.
  • Supervise program development for membership growth and revenue.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews and recommend salary adjustments.
  • Lead in fundraising efforts, engaging volunteers, and securing donations.
  • Develop and monitor program budgets to meet financial goals.
  • Serve on the center leadership team, participating in various responsibilities.
  • Attend all staff meetings and training sessions for ongoing development.

Qualifications

  • Exceptional at leading and inspiring their team while fostering a culture of service.
  • A strong communicator with skills to connect with diverse groups. 
  • A reliable professional with conflict resolution abilities, good judgment, and initiative.
  • Organized and able to multitask under pressure while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with standard office equipment
  • Eager to learn new technologies and gain new skills
  • Available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Extensively experienced in staff management, training, fiscal responsibility, and relationship building.
  • At least 18 years old.
  • Has either earned a Bachelor’s degree or has the equivalence in experience and knowledge.

Certifications Required (Psst – these are paid training!)

  • Before the start of 1st shift: New Hire Orientation training
  • Within 30 days of hire: CPR/First Aid/AED, and not scheduled alone + EAP
  • Within 30 days of hire: Membership Software training
  • Within 60 days of hire: Listen First training
