Job Summary

Performs professional duties involved in planning, overseeing, and/or coordinating system-wide programs for Nashville Public Library. Performs related duties as required. System-wide programs include: Artober, African American History Month, Community of Cultures, Summer Reading Challenge, Read to Rise, Teen Studio, Courtyard Concerts, Nashville READS and Hispanic Heritage Month.

Job Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, and coordinate all programs for an organization
  • Work with program managers to strategize programming initiatives and ensure proper execution of tasks
  • Create daily programming schedules; inform relevant persons on programming processes and administer assigned tasks
  • Coordinate all customer contact; confirm proper measures are taken for customer satisfaction
  • Facilitate communication between all relevant parties regarding current programs
  • Research as necessary to provide effective programming
  • Manage social media outlets for promotional and educational purposes
  • Build and maintain client and company relationships
  • Assist in creating and setting up all programming materials
  • Coordinate recruitment, outreach, and grant management efforts
  • Organize and record all programming meetings
  • Develop, track, and manage programming budgeting and accounting information
  • Update and maintain programming databases with necessary information

Attend meetings/workshops as needed.

Qualifications

  • Strong computer, internet research skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible and attentive to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, and the ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as outside donors and board members.
  • Strong work ethic and an understanding that evening and weekend work is occasionally required.
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and written in a positive and effective manner
