Job Summary
The Staff Accountant position has key responsibilities for the financial accountability of The Community Foundation. Duties include: implementation of reports, investment and bank reconciliation, donation and grant activities along with audit and 990 preparations. This position supports work generated in the Finance Department.
Job Responsibilities
- Reconciliation of monthly investments and bank statements
- Process grants and contributions
- Prepare account analysis and implement reports: including budgets, financial statements, cash flow statements
- Complete transfers between bank accounts
- Assist with CLT calculations and receivables
- Support payroll and benefits administration
- Support for charitable solicitation
- Aid in preparation of 1099
- Assist in updating accounting policies and procedures
- Complete schedules relating to audit and 990 return
- Cross-train in other areas of Finance
- Support donor and grantee request
Qualifications
- Accounting degree preferred or equivalent experience
- Maintain confidentiality as required and appropriate
- Analytical and problem solving, along with strong Excel skills
- Effective written and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
