Job Summary

The Greater Nashville Regional Council (GNRC) is seeking a full-time professional to coordinate special projects for the agency’s Department of Aging and Disability Services.  As the designated Area Agency on Aging and Disability for Middle Tennessee, GNRC coordinates a variety of state and federal resources aimed at sustaining or improving the quality of life for older adults and their caregivers.  The Special Projects Coordinator will support the team by carrying out special assignments to improve the department’s operations.

GNRC is the regional council of governments for Nashville and surrounding counties and serves as one of nine regional economic development districts established by the Tennessee General Assembly in 1965. GNRC also serves as the region’s state/federally-designated Area Agency on Aging & Disability (AAAD), working in close partnership with the TN Commission on Aging and Disability (TCAD) and TennCare. Job Responsibilities

Specifically, the Special Projects Coordinator will be expected to:

  • Assist management with carrying out projects focused on internal process improvement, the betterment of external products or services, revenue generation or cost containment, policy and legislative affairs, or communications and marketing;
  • Coordinate the timely creation, review, and approval of key documents;
  • Conduct literature reviews, environmental scans, personal interviews, field observations, and other research activities to inform management of ideas or practices that can improve the operation of the department;
  • Review, investigate, and make recommendations to management on issues associated with assigned projects; and
  • Assist with other activities including, but not limited to, meeting coordination and administrative support.

 

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a college degree or equivalent experience. This candidate will be a critical thinker and problem solver with strong oral and written communication skills who excels at working both with diverse teams and independently. Computer skills are a must including proficiency in Adobe and Microsoft Office products.

TRAVEL EXPECTATIONS:  This in-office position may require travel throughout GNRC’s thirteen-county region. A valid driver’s license and access to personal transportation are required.
