Job Summary

Tennessee Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence (the Coalition) seeks a Resource Specialist is responsible for Accounts Payable duties sungrantee management, and assisting the Associate Director/Director of Finance & Administration with other clerical functions. 

Who We Are

Established in 1983, the Tennessee Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence is a non-profit organization with the mission to end domestic and sexual violence in the lives of Tennesseans and to change societal attitudes and institutions that promote and condone violence, through public policy advocacy, education and activities that increase the capacity of programs and communities to address such violence. Serving as the state resource center on domestic and sexual violence, we foster statewide partnerships, develop effective programs, provide legal services and emergency financial assistance to survivors, and advocate for social change to end rape and abuse.

Job Responsibilities

Financial Management

  • Process financial reimbursement, conduct financial monitoring, and Maintain records of sub-contracting agencies
  • Prepare expense reports for trainings and multi-person travel
  • Reconcile credit card statements
  • Enter Account Payable invoices,  write checks,  and post accounts in QuickBooks
  • Assist with the preparation of reports including Policy 3, federal grant reports, 990 and annual report
  • Review and organize financial documents for monitoring visits

Information Management

  • Assist with research, development of internal policies and procedures, such as financial policies, training policies, travel policies for non-employees, Business Team Operations Manual, etc.
  • Maintain master database for the organization including daily updates to records.
  • Provide membership and other reports from the database to staff as requested for training announcements, newsletters, etc.
  • Provide database lists to staff
  • Provide donor, member, and program information to communication specialist to highlight in newsletters, social media posts, annual report, etc.

Communications:

  • Serve as the financial point of contact for sub-contracting agencies and programs
  • Prepare reports as needed;

Meeting and Training Coordination:

  • Assist coordination of venue, vendors and travel accommodations associated with Coalition trainings as needed
  • Assist organizing and booking travel arrangements and accommodations for multi-person and grant specific travel in relation to conferences/meetings including staff and speakers;

Technical Assistance:

  • Provide technical assistance to programs in the area of financial compliance with state or federal grant guidelines.

Other Duties:

Perform other duties as assigned by the Associate Director.

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in accounting or Finance or 3 years accounting experience required
  • Knowledge of general ledger accounting and budgeting
  • Experience in using accounting software with functional modules of A/P, A/R, and G/L
  • Experience with computer hardware and software
  • High level of analytical ability and problem solving skills
  • Skills in excellent customer service, both internal and external
  • Effective verbal and written interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to multi-task and handle conflicting priorities and deadlines appropriately
  • Skills in utilizing email and Word at a basic level, Excel and data entry at an intermediate level
  • Ability to move objects up to 25 pounds
