Job Summary

The Rural Program Specialist will build the capacity of three rural partner programs to provide a full range of sexual assault, stalking, and domestic violence services through ongoing training and technical assistance. This position will establish or strengthen existing multidisciplinary collaboration between rural victim service agencies and rural law enforcement through Coordinated Community Response Teams. Ideal candidates possess diverse knowledge of domestic and sexual violence and stalking, understanding of the needs of rural populations, and experience in developing innovative and engaging training. 

Job Responsibilities

Major Duties: 

  • Providing high quality support and technical assistance to rural program partners in order to enhance their capacity to serve victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking 

  • Support rural partners, allied professionals and law enforcement in building strong Coordinated Community Response Teams in partner communities 

  • Ensuring compliance with all grant & agency policies and procedures 

  • Compiling data and narratives for grant reports 

TechnicalSupport/Information Dissemination: 

·        Provide training, technical assistance and public policy information on domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking to member programs, victims’ rights organizations and communities; 

·        Develop, review, revise and implement training curricula and announcements; 

·        Assist in gathering domestic violence, sexual assault, and victims of crime information for data collection and reports. 

 Meeting Attendance: 

  • Attend committee meetings as required; 

  • Represent agency at community meetings and events as requested by Director of Programs; 

  • Attend Coalition’s Specialist Team meetings and staff meetings as scheduled. 

 Communications: 

  • Provide ongoing feedback to Director of Programs regarding programmatic issues; 

  • Respond to requests from programs and survivors, including distribution of resources; 

  • Prepare narrative reports to board and funders as needed. 

 Program Support/Development: 

  • Provide high quality support to advocates and allied professionals regarding victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, and stalking; 

  • Provide trauma and evidence informed services to allied professionals and advocates regarding trauma informed care of victims; 

  • Work to develop public awareness opportunities surrounding issues affecting domestic violence and sexual assault. 

Networking and Advocacy: 

Network with other agencies and systems providing services to domestic violence victims and sexual assault victims; 

 Other Duties: 

Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Programs.  

Qualifications

  • Two years’ experience working in the domestic violence or sexual assault field, preferably in a rural setting 

  • Demonstrated history in developing training curriculum  

  • Experience in providing educational presentations 

  • Experience in grant management and grant reporting 

  • Dedication to equity, diversity, and inclusion

  • Strong oral and written communication skills 

  • Sound professional judgment 

  • Strong organizational and time management skills 

  • Computer and word processing software proficiency 

  • Ability to work well in teams 

  • Professional personal presentation
