Job Summary

The Delta Impact Program Specialist will implement the statewide prevention project including providing statewide workplace violence training.  This project includes developing a State Action Plan, working with local, state and national partners in preventing intimate partner violence. The Program Specialist position is a member of a team of the Program team.  This team is responsible for providing training, technical assistance and support to member programs and communities statewide.

Job Responsibilities

Specific duties for the position will include, but are not limited to:

 Technical Support/Information Dissemination:

·        Provide training, technical assistance and public policy information on domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking to member programs, victims’ rights organizations and communities;

·        Develop, review, revise and implement training curriculums and announcements;

·        Update and revise websites as needed;

·        Assist in gathering domestic violence, sexual assault, and victims of crime information for data collection and reports.

 Meeting Attendance:

  • Attend committee meetings as required;
  • Represent agency at community meetings and events as requested Program Coordinator;
  • Attend Coalition’s Specialist Team meetings and staff meetings as scheduled.

 Communications:

  • Provide ongoing feedback to Program Coordinator regarding programmatic issues;
  • Respond to requests from programs and survivors, including distribution of resources;
  • Prepare narrative reports as needed.

 Program Support/Development:

  • Provide high quality support to advocates and allied professionals regarding victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, and stalking;
  • Provide trauma and evidence informed services to allied professionals and advocates regarding trauma informed care of victims;
  • Work to develop public awareness opportunities surrounding issues affecting domestic violence and sexual assault.

Networking and Advocacy:

Network with other agencies and systems providing services to domestic violence victims and sexual assault victims.

 Other Duties:

Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Coordinator.

 Supervision:

Supervised by and accountable to the Program Coordinator.

Qualifications

At least two years of experience working with victims of Intimate Partner Violence (IPV)

Familiarity with IPV prevention;

At least two years of work experience in non-profit organizations

Experience working on grant-funded projects

Demonstrated ability for organization and administration;

Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting;

Demonstrated skills in oral, written and interpersonal communications, including computer and database (entry and analysis) skills; and

Demonstrated ability to gather and disseminate information.
