Job Summary

Assist in all existing programs of Cosecha and help to develop new programs that carry out the mission of the organization.  Build relationships and develop partnerships with community partners, local schools, students, families, neighbors, and volunteers. Assist as needed with administrative duties and fundraising efforts of organization.  This is a full time (30 hours per week) salaried position.

Job Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions

  1. Assist in planning and coordinating Health & Wholeness programming, including but not limited to the Cosecha Community Market, Cosecha Community Gardens, and Feast.
  2. Plan and coordinate learning opportunities for students and families out of Health & Wholeness programming, such as Garden Club or Cooking Classes with partner schools.
  3. Work with staff to involve neighborhood children, youth, and adults in Cosecha Community Garden programming.
  4. Work with Executive Director to develop and lead Literacy opportunities for children, youth, and adults, such as in-school or after-school programming, and English and Spanish language classes.
  5. Work with Executive Director to create objectives and performance measurements for the programs of Cosecha.
  6. Recruit, train, and engage volunteer involvement throughout programming.
  7. Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, families, neighbors, and volunteers.
  8. Help ensure facilities are clean, organized, and conducive to program goals.
  9. Provide administrative, operational, fundraising, and financial task support for programs and organization.
  10. Assist with and attend all community and fundraising events of organization.

Qualifications

Requirements

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following professional qualifications:

  1. A commitment to the Christian Faith.
  2. An awareness and understanding of the principles of Christian Community Development.
  3. A demonstrated commitment to engagement in the neighborhood with preference for living in the community served.
  4. Fluency in Spanish preferred.  Some knowledge of the Spanish language required.
  5. Experience working in an urban or culturally diverse setting.
  6. A sense of vocational calling to the work at hand.
