Job Summary

FiftyForward seeks candidates for full-time Program Coordinator at FiftyForward Bordeaux Center

Nestled in a historic area of Northwest Nashville, FiftyForward Bordeaux opened in May 2007, in what was previously the Bordeaux Library. This center offers many opportunities for engagement through programs, activities, and services for older adults. FiftyForward Bordeaux serves a diverse community and offers opportunities for activities for fun, fitness, and fellowship in the community.

Job Responsibilities

The leadership at FiftyForward Bordeaux seeks to ensure that members of this community are engaged in ways that strengthen them physically, socially, and spiritually and improve members’ lives through various programs. The Program Coordinator assists in the overall operation of the center with emphasis on planning, developing, coordinating, implementing and evaluating center programs and activities that are educational, social and recreational and encourage total health and well-being and community involvement.


The successful candidate will have:

  • Passion for serving people, demonstrated commitment to mission, values, and goals of FiftyForward
  • Demonstrated knowledge of, and ability to work effectively with, adults 50+ years of age
  • Ability to maintain positive working relationships with all FiftyForward staff, members, volunteers, partners and the public
  • Proven ability to work independently and as a team, working cooperatively with internal and external customers and providers
  • Demonstrated skills in organization, administrative skills, basic arithmetic, customer service and time management
  • Ability to listen actively
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs including publisher and other graphic programs
  • Bachelor’s degree in social services or related field or equivalent
  • One to three years of experience in program planning, development, coordinating, implementation, evaluation, marketing, promoting, and/or recruiting. Prefer experience in non-profit
  • Demonstrated experience creating newsletter publications and posting to social media
  • Proficiency in using data files and records
