Job Responsibilities
What Is This Job All About?
- Collect lab specimens, including blood, urine, nasal swabs, throat swabs and other required specimens ordered by providers.
- Process collected specimens and create necessary requisitions electronically or manually to send out to local laboratories for processing and tracking the return of these results.
- Process collected specimens for in house testing for CLIA waived testing.
- Accurately enter results data into the patient charts using Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Manage inquires between patients and outside laboratories regarding billing concerns.
Qualifications
What We Need from You:
- Must have completed an accredited phlebotomist certification and hold a current phlebotomist tech certification.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a phlebotomist working in a medical setting.
- Must be knowledgeable of lab draws and ordering processes typically used in a medical office.
- Must have Intermediate computer skills, including typing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Outstanding communication skills.
- Ability to use and document in our Electronic Medical Record.
- Usual clinic operating hours are Mon-Fri 8am-5pm and Saturdays 8am-2pm.
