ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION

The Parthenon and Centennial Park have been essential parts of Nashville’s fabric for more than a century. Over 3 million people visit the Park and Parthenon annually, and as a 501(c)(3)nonprofit support organization working in partnership with Metro Parks, Centennial Park Conservancy (CPC) is committed to our mission of preserving, enhancing, and sharing these Nashville treasures to serve current and future generations. The organization is responsible for a variety of initiatives focused on caring for the Park and maintaining its vibrancy. Centennial Park Conservancy has several areas of focus, including:

  • The Parthenon – a full scale replica of the Grecian monument that operates as an engaging museum, presenting humanities exhibitions and educational programming for over 300,000 visitors annually
  • Musicians Corner – an outdoor music series attended by 75,000 people annually that presents free, diverse, and accessible live music for people of all ages and socio-economic groups
  • Kidsville – an educational program that serves over 30,000 children (ages 2-12) annually and provides free activities in the Parthenon, Park, and Metro Parks Community Centers across the city
  • Nashville Earth Day – the city’s official event celebrating, protecting our environment, and creating positive change through the funding of environmental projects across our city
  • Centennial Park Revitalization – a multi-decade partnership with Metro Parks to preserve and transform Nashville’s central park to serve current and future generations; achieved through capital improvements projects, the Centennial Park Maintenance Fund, and Parthenon Preservation Fund

ABOUT THE POSITION

The Marketing Manager is responsible for supporting Centennial Park Conservancy’s marketing and communication strategy, and planning, creating, and implementing marketing campaigns and assets to: further our mission; promote the organization, Parthenon, and programs; engage supporters, partners, and stakeholders; and help increase revenue to meet our goals and increase support for the Park and Parthenon.

Working collaboratively with CPC’s Senior Director of Marketing & Communications and staff, the Marketing Manager supports the organization’s marketing and communication efforts across traditional and digital channels.

Job Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Marketing Manager will have the following primary responsibilities:

WEBSITE MANAGEMENT: 

  • Lead the content management for five websites, including: conservancyonline.com, musicianscornernashville.com, kidsvilleonline.org, nashvillearthday.com, and nashvilleparthenon.com
  • Ensure websites are a positive reflection of CPC’s brands, and content/calendars are continually updated with timely and accurate information
  • Support website redesigns and the creation of additional sites when necessary
  • Promote merchandise sales through our online store and Google Shopping and create/implement a plan to increase sales
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet internal client needs

SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGEMENT: 

  • Manage social media posts for CPC, including Musicians Corner, Kidsville, Earth Day, and the Parthenon on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and TikTok, including content calendar, content development including copywriting and design, content delivery, promoted posts, and follower engagement
  • Manage social media posts at program events
  • Create artist and vendor badges/content to promote events
  • Promote merchandise sales through direct social media purchases and create/implement a plan to increase sales
  • Provide ongoing reporting on social media engagement, reach, and growth
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet internal client needs

EMAIL AND PRINT NEWSLETTER MANAGEMENT: 

  • Write, design, and send CPC, Musicians Corner, Kidsville, and Nashville Earth Day email newsletters, typically monthly – weekly during Musicians Corner event seasons
  • Help maintain and grow email databases
  • Conduct testing to increase open rates
  • Provide ongoing reporting on email engagement, reach, and growth
  • Help manage the development of CPC’s spring and fall print newsletter and Gratitude Report sent to supporter and partners’ homes
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet internal client needs

GRAPHIC DESIGN: 

  • Direct the design, management, and implementation ofCPC, Parthenon, and program marketing assets including logos, print ads, brochures, visitor guides, postcards, posters, event banners & signage, tents, event programs, invitations, digital display ads, yard signs, billboards, promotions, and giveaways; manage graphic designers as needed
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet internal client needs

FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGNS & DONOR COMMUNICATIONS: 

  • Support integrated marketing campaigns for fundraising across several traditional and digital channels to support our Spring Campaign, Big Payback, Giving Tuesday, and Winter Campaign
  • Create donor assets, including letters, membership cards, brochures, and rack cards
  • Serve as project manager for printing needs
  • Assist with development of partner decks to solicit corporate and foundation sponsorships
  • Work collaboratively with the Development team to meet internal client needs

PHOTO AND VIDEO: 

  • Manage event photographers and videographers to capture content; deliver promotional assets to artists
  • Develop promotional videos for organization, the Parthenon, and programs
  • Create and manage and online catalog of digital images that is well-organized and easily accessible for internal team members

PRESS RELEASES: 

  • Support the development of press releases for CPC, Parthenon, and programs, including Musicians Corner, Kidsville, and Nashville Earth Day
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet internal client needs

PARTNER SUPPORT: 

  • Ensure corporate and foundation partners receive agreed upon recognition in marketing and event assets
  • Provide photos and assets for partner recaps

MEDIA PARTNERSHIPS: 

  • Work with media partners and ensure the organization reaches a broad demographic of people and attracts a diverse audience to the Park and its events

OTHER: 

  • Manage Google ad grants and Google My Business
  • Conduct surveys of park users to engage them around their needs

Qualifications

We’re searching for someone who is passionately committed to Centennial Park Conservancy’s mission, is goal-orientated with a keen sense of how to promote a nonprofit organization and its programs, proactive and on time, a team player to the core, diplomatic and discreet with excellent partner relations and listening skills, positive and flexible with intellectual curiosity and capacity to adjust to change, inclusive and empathetic with an understanding of what it means to be equitable, and humble and gracious under pressure with a high sense of integrity and sense of humor.

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will possess most of the following qualifications:

  • Undergraduate and/or graduate degree in marketing or communications
  • 5+ years of proven marketing expertise, including: a thorough knowledge of marketing principles and channels; social media, website, and email newsletter; preferably with experience in Squarespace and MailChimp
  • Graphic design experience with strong eye for design; ability to work effectively in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including copywriting, editing, and proofreading
  • Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail
  • Highly organized with an ability to prioritize, and manage multiple projects and campaigns simultaneously in a time sensitive environment with numerous internal stakeholders
  • Strong critical and creative thinking to drive effective results
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to utilize data to make informed decisions
  • Proactive, self-motivated, results-oriented, and ability to maintain a self-directed schedule
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment
  • Professional, courteous, cooperative, and positive in interactions with colleagues, partners, stakeholders, and others
  • Collaborative team player who works multiple internal an external partners to achieve mutual goals and deliver results in a timely manner
  • Committed to maintaining the integrity of confidential communications and/or activities
  • Strong knowledge of computers, including Apple programs, Microsoft Office, and Google Drive
  • Ability to work at Parthenon and program events that often take place on evenings and weekends
  • Nonprofit, greenspace, and arts industry experience a plus, preferably in Nashville
