NOTE: This is a part-time temporary position, with a full-time announcement to follow on the University of Tennessee website.  Candidates interested in full-time are encouraged to pursue the part-time temporary position.

The Marketing & Communications Coordinator is part of a team responsible for the administration and maintenance of the primary internet, social media profiles for TLC, as well as promotion of TLC programs and coordination of outreach events.  Reporting to the Executive Director, the Marketing & Communications Coordinator recommends and guides the strategy for all communications, website, and public relations messages and collateral to consistently articulate TLC’s mission. The Marketing & Communications Director ensures that TLC is viewed as the primary source of language education and services within its diverse network and constituent base.  The Coordinator is responsible for the overall management of TLC’s brand and coordinates at the strategic and tactical levels with TLC program staff to direct program-level marketing efforts.

Job Responsibilities

Management of Marketing and Promotion
• Promote TLC programs and events, press releases, marketing initiatives, and campaigns through collaboration with community partners and relevant outlets
• Develop and maintain effective relationships, strategies, and campaigns for promoting TLC’s extensive program offerings to diverse customer bases (B2C, B2B, various industries, etc.)
• Coordinate TLC participation in community events, festivals, meetings, and conferences
• Attend networking events to promote TLC services
• Work with departments to monitor and advise on use of program-specific TLC social accounts (TESL, ESL to Go) ; Collaborate closely with directors and assistant directors of TLC programs

Marketing Collateral Development and Creation
• Design and create press kits, press releases, and collateral materials
• Create and deliver monthly TLC email Newsletter;
• Schedule and secure advertisements, create messaging for TLC on radio and other mediums
• Provide direct support to departments across TLC, including graphic design, talking points, power point presentations, photography and videography with assistance of tech team

Technology
• Database management; Customer relations and contacts management
• Maintain and develop website in collaboration with tech team
• Monitor web presence and SEO status in collaboration with tech team
• Maintain primary TLC internet/social media applications including Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn

Administrative
• Oversee marketing budget and communicate parameters to the team
• Document and preserve in digital and hard copy relevant historical records of organization

Qualifications

• Exceptional writing skills coupled with creative design
• Strong organizational and administrative skills
• Microsoft Word, Excel, and desktop publishing expertise
• Basic knowledge of Adobe Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and online tools such as Canva
• AdWords, SEO, knowledge of HTML5 & CSS3, WordPress, digital/ social marketing
• Ability to work collaboratively with all constituent groups, including staff, board members, volunteers, donors, program participants, and other supporters
