Job Summary

The Manager of Education and Engagement will have a both an external and internal focus for NAHT.  He/she will launch and grow the program of Educate to Recognize, connecting with and educating community groups to recognize, resist, and fight Human Trafficking. He/she will own and lead the Volunteer program at NAHT, building a sustainable team of engaged, capable and equipped volunteers.

Job Responsibilities

Educate to Recognize

  • Help create and manage all processes for an effective Educate to Recognize program
  • Identify presentation opportunities within the community including local area middle and high school systems, parent/teacher groups, coaches, administrators, church groups, etc.
  • Network with interested individuals and entities to further opportunity
  • Ensure organized, detailed coordination with community contacts for all presentations
  • Create the design and content of PowerPoint Presentations
  • Have all IT knowledge and abilities for seamless presentations in different settings
  • Present in an educational and engaging manner to various groups and organizations and utilize others on the NAHT team to build an educational outreach team
  • Create and prepare handouts and other materials for all presentations
  • Respond promptly with follow-up for each event (thank you’s, additional materials, action steps, feedback)

Volunteers

  • Recruit, interview, train, and supervise new volunteers
  • Lead monthly volunteer training and update training power point as needed
  • Implement and maintain background check system for incoming volunteers
  • Maintain an accurate, up-to-date volunteer database
  • Communicate consistently with potential and existing volunteers regarding organization and volunteer opportunities
  • Match volunteers to opportunities that utilize their skill set and experience, organizing all training and on-the-job training necessary with other staff
  • Organize community outreach activities
  • Plan, host, and coordinate volunteers for monthly Internal Member Events
  • Communicate with members and volunteers about events
  • Track volunteer hours
  • Recruit and schedule volunteers for transportation needs for members, working closely with the Transportation Team Coordinator
  • Coordinate ‘NAHT Letters of Hope’ ministry, connecting volunteers with members and monitoring participation
  • Oversee NAHT Prayer Team, adding interested volunteers to the prayer chain and ensuring that daily prayer requests are sent
  • Work with NAHT staff to ensure work and communication are smooth between volunteers and staff
  • Coordinate with staff and volunteers regarding Rescue closet needs/donations
  • Create engagement opportunities for volunteers to celebrate and thank the NAHT volunteer community
  • Other responsibilities related to community and volunteer engagement as assigned

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications and Qualities:

  • A bachelor’s or associate degree or related experience in communications, volunteer management, education
  • Experience in volunteering and recruitment
  • Experience in a non-profit organization
  • Leadership experience, including teambuilding
  • Experience in public speaking or teaching
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational abilities
  • Ability to work productively in a high-energy, dynamic environment
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), OneDrive, Canva, Mailchimp preferred
  • Enjoys utilizing software to design and communicate information creatively and effectively
  • Working knowledge of nonprofit databases (Little Green Light), preferred
  • Comfortable using MacBook
  • Available to work events outside of normal work schedule as needed
  • Commitment to confidentiality
  • Must have own car and have the physical ability to load, carry and operate presentation equipment and materials
