Job Summary

Catholic Charities, Diocese of Nashville is seeking candidates for one full time IT and Database Manager. This is a benefits eligible, full-time position, working 37.5 hours per week from 8:00am-4:30pm Monday through Friday, with some flexibility required.

 

The IT and Database Manager will assist with IT and Database technical support agency wide. The manager will be responsible for the network, software, and server infrastructure of the agency. With assistance from third party consultants, the manager will assist in the maintenance data and storage retrieval systems, troubleshoot database issues, and implement database recovery procedures and safety processes. They will also assist in the designing, maintaining, and enhancing the Salesforce application and other local and cloud operations.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Serves as the database expert for the agency keeping IT and database staff updated on current projects, delegating appropriately.
  2. Present ideas and created solutions to database needs, both current and future.
  3. Partner with the Talent and Culture Department to train agency’s workforce on new technology.
  4. Partner with the Talent and Culture Department to train agency’s workforce on new technology.
  5. Troubleshoot end user equipment and software issues for agency, partnering with vendor support contacts to resolve technical issues that cannot be resolved in house.
  6. Work with Programs Directors and Finance to identify agency needs for software, equipment and other cloud services.
  7. Ensure all desktop and laptop computers interconnect seamlessly with diverse systems including associated data management, file servers, email servers, and administrative systems.
  8. Assist staff with the installation, configurations, and ongoing usability of, peripheral equipment, and software.
  9. Update and edit the structure of the database to meet data collection and reporting needs.
  10. Support production of standard and custom reports – determine with staff which reports are needed regularly (monthly, weekly, etc.) and set them up to allow self-service reporting.
  11. Manage and maintain quality of data within the system using validation rules in the database.
  12. Responsible for the integrity of the agency’s data, ensuring data cleanup is performed as needed and backup assistance is provided, when necessary, along with disaster recovery plans for all systems.
  13. Create and maintain documentation for data entry processes and data entry standards.   
  14. Identify user workflows that can be made more efficient by using Salesforce or other IT tools.

Qualifications

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  1. Bachelor’s degree in a technical related field preferred.
  2. 2-5 years of progressive experience in an IT and/or Database environment.
  3. Experience in working in a non-profit environment a plus.
  4. Working knowledge of Salesforce user permissions, validation rules, workflow rules, process builder, page layouts, custom object, custom fields, reports, and dashboards; experience with basic Apex triggers and basic Visualforce.
  5. Experience with Financial Edge Financial systems a plus.

OTHER SKILLS

  1. Supervision experience required.
  2. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft products.
  3. Experience working with large and complex datasets.
  4. Experience with large-scaled data cleaning and data migration with an understanding of network components and infrastructure.
  5. Experience training non-technical staff to use agency applications and follow established best practices.
  6. Experience working with sandbox and productions environments to manage/test functional or process changes
  7. Solution oriented with a focus on the user experience.
