Job Summary
Purpose of the Position:
The Intake Specialist is responsible to provide clinical intake services, including assessing and screening clients prior to scheduling with therapists. This is a clinical position administratively responsible to the Clinical Director.
Job Responsibilities
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Provide comprehensive assessment, including completion of intake paperwork for all new clients to The Refuge Center for Counseling
- Perform a brief clinical intake to determine client need and provide follow up information to front desk for scheduling
- Assist in the detection of “at risk” clients and provide referrals as appropriate
- Complete client documentation and setting of fee.
- Actively participate in staff meetings on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th weeks of each month
- Other duties may be assigned from time-to-time to drive the mission, vision, and strategy of The Refuge Center for Counseling
OTHER DUTIES:
- Communicate general clinic information, when appropriate.
- Respond to emergency calls and mandated reporting needs according to established procedure and sound judgment
- Maintain work area in a neat and orderly manner
- Perform duties in a professional manner while exhibiting a courteous and cooperative demeanor to clients, co-workers, management, and the public
- Maintain strictest confidentiality both internally & externally
- Adhere to Refuge policies and procedures
- Perform related work as assigned
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy or Social Work preferred.
- Minimum of one year of experience working in a clinical setting
- One year of case management experience preferred
- Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document legibly
- Good diagnostic and assessment skills
- Must possess superior time management and organizational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple schedules based on individual preference and guidelines
