Job Summary

Purpose of the Position:  

The Intake Specialist is responsible to provide clinical intake services, including assessing and screening clients prior to scheduling with therapists.  This is a clinical position administratively responsible to the Clinical Director.

Job Responsibilities

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

  • Provide comprehensive assessment, including completion of intake paperwork  for all new clients to The Refuge Center for Counseling
  • Perform a brief clinical intake to determine client need and provide follow up information to front desk for scheduling
  • Assist in the detection of “at risk” clients and provide referrals as appropriate
  • Complete client documentation and setting of fee.
  • Actively participate in staff meetings on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th weeks of each month
  • Other duties may be assigned from time-to-time to drive the mission, vision, and strategy of The Refuge Center for Counseling 

OTHER DUTIES:

 

  • Communicate general clinic information, when appropriate.
  • Respond to emergency calls and mandated reporting needs according to established procedure and sound judgment
  • Maintain work area in a neat and orderly manner
  • Perform duties in a professional manner while exhibiting a courteous and cooperative demeanor to clients, co-workers, management, and the public
  • Maintain strictest confidentiality both internally & externally
  • Adhere to Refuge policies and procedures
  • Perform related work as assigned

 

 

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy or Social Work preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of experience working in a clinical setting
  • One year of case management experience preferred
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document legibly
  • Good diagnostic and assessment skills
  • Must possess superior time management and organizational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple schedules based on individual preference and guidelines
