JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Summary

Inspiritus’ Refugee & Immigrant Services (RIS) Department works to build welcoming communities for refugees and immigrants and accompanies newcomers on a path from surviving to thriving. Based in Atlanta, The Grant and Compliance Manager will be responsible for all RIS grants management in Georgia, Alabama, and Tennessee. The Grant and Compliance Manager is responsible for providing support to the management team by ensuring that grants’ activities and reporting are within established guidelines and regulations. She/he will work with Finance Team and Development Team to reconcile grants invoicing and reporting. Under the Director of RIS, she/he will be responsible for sustainable financial reporting and tracking. She/he will help in preparing budgets and tracking program spending. 

Job Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Understands and is aware of all aspects of the program’s contractual requirements.
  • Consistently stays abreast of all aspects and any changes in the program’s contractual requirements.
  • Ensures that all services provided by the department meet or exceed contract standards and guidelines.
  • Ensure that the required billing information is submitted and the monthly billings are accurate.
  • Works with Development Team to provide information and assistance for grant applications and contract proposals. Prepares grant applications and funding requests independently when appropriate.
  • Works with Finance Team to reconcile grant spending and reporting.
  • Responds to monitoring and audit reports and implements required changes.
  • Helps develop program budgets
  • Ensures department compliance with state and federal contracts
  • Maintains personal and professional boundaries in the performance of the job
  • Forges mutually respectful partnerships with clients, co-workers, and volunteers
  • Participates in Inspiritus functions and public relations activities
  • Participates in training and professional conferences to keep abreast of current trends.
  • Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.

Supervisory Responsibility

  • Ensures training requirements and needs are met.
  • May conduct in-service training.
  • Ensures case reviews are conducted at least quarterly.
  • Monitors performance and adherence to Inspiritus’ mission, policies, procedures, and service philosophy.
  • Attends management trainings.
  • Manages program budgets with the Director of Refugee & Immigrant Services

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

Physical Demands

 

Regularly required to talk and hear in person and on the telephone. Required to stand, walk, sit, use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls: and reach with hands and arms to operate computer and other office equipment. Required to operate a personal vehicle. Employee frequently lifts and or moves up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

 

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.  

Travel: Up to 25% local travel

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Organizational Development, International Development, Non-profit Management, or related fields required and a minimum of three years of previous program management experience in human services, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in planning for, implementing, and overseeing advanced, complex, and robust data management systems (i.e., identifying, gathering, tracking, analyzing, and reporting).
  • Must possess analytical skills and evaluation techniques.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with close attention to detail.
  • Experience managing relevant projects with federal government cooperative agreements and/or contracts.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Experience working in a culturally diverse environment and a high level of cultural competence.
  • Conviction about the capacity of people to grow and change.
  • Excellent computer skills, accurate typing, and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must have the ability to communicate with all persons in a culturally competent manner.
  • Must be sensitive to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Experience managing and leading refugee and Immigrant-serving programs in the United States or abroad, including Reception & Placement, Match Grant, Refugee Social Services, Intensive Case Management, Refugee Microenterprise, Safe and Post Release Services, and other Office of Refugee Resettlement programming.
