Job Summary

Tech Goes Home Tennessee (TGH TN) seeks a Field Coordinator in the Nashville, Tennessee, region to work on our statewide digital inclusion program. The work will be concentrated in the following counties: Cheatham, Davidson, Dickson, Houston, Humphreys, Montgomery, Robertson, Rutherford, Stewart, Sumner, Trousdale, Wilson, and Williamson. This position will work remotely, with residence in the Nashville Metro area preferred. Some travel across the region will be required. 

ABOUT TECH GOES HOME TENNESSEE (TGH TN)

We partner with schools, libraries, faith-based organizations, senior centers, nonprofits, and other organizations to offer free computer courses, designed to help Tennesseeans of all ages develop the skills and habits required for smart technology and Internet use. Our program portfolio includes curricula that customize fifteen hours of classroom training to learners’ skill levels and learning goals. Learners also receive a new Chromebook and assistance in exploring low-cost home internet options. Since 2015, more than 12,000 learners have graduated from our programs, including older adults, teachers, entrepreneurs, parents/guardians their school children, and workforce professionals. 

Job Responsibilities

Key responsibilities in this role are:

  • Help plan and coordinate Tech Goes Home digital skills training classes throughout the region in partnership with the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, Nashville Public Education Foundation, Greater Nashville Regional Council, Mid-Cumberland Human Resource Agency, and other non-profit organizations. 
  • Manage relationships with partner organizations, meeting regularly with partners to facilitate program delivery and evaluate programming 
  • Working with employers, elected officials, and/or community leaders to support programmatic outcomes
  • Serve as the local contact for designated partner organizations’ staff and trainers before, during, and after classes
  • Travel to provide additional program support, including but not limited to partner meetings, classes, and other related meetings
  • Evaluating class locations in person across the programmatic region
  • Communicate with and manage designated trainers during program sessions
  • Assist with data collection, evaluation, and record maintenance in platforms including AirTable, Google Sheets and Forms, and Mail Chimp
  • Work with our computer vendor(s), partner organizations, and trainers to coordinate, deliver, store, and track devices.
  • Troubleshoot internet and technology issues for class host sites
  • Assist with ongoing learner recruitment efforts and outreach to the community by tabling at local events, and providing stories and content to communications colleagues.
  • Provide regular reports to TGH TN staff
  • Monitor the implementation of TGH TN’s policies, procedures, programming, and program improvements at specified partner locations across the designated region
  • Other work that supports the operation and goals of Tech Goes Home Tennessee, as needed

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess: 

  • Experience working with non-profit community partners & elected officials
  • An overall passion for education and digital equity 
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Experience teaching adult learners
  • Working proficiency with Google Drive and Google apps
  • Proficiency in basic internet and computer troubleshooting
  • Proficient in programs similar to AirTable, Canva, Mail Chimp
  • A track record of being a strong team player and a self-starter
  • BA/BS Degree or relevant equivalent experience

  • Criminal background screening
  • This position works remotely and travels frequently throughout the Nashville, Tennessee, region. Regular use of a personal vehicle and maintenance of personal auto insurance in accordance with TN state law is required.

Additional Information

Benefits

This is a full-time position with benefits, including medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) contributions. Mileage reimbursement for any work-related travel and, when applicable, overnight lodging is also included. The salary is $55,000 – $60,000, funded by contract with the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development and the Tennessee Broadband Office. Any offer of employment is contingent upon a criminal background screening.
