Executive Director – Leadership Clarksville

The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing the administration, implementation,
and sustainability of the Leadership Clarksville program.
This position reports directly to the organization’s Board of Trustees.

Job Responsibilities

Administrative Responsibilities:

• Direct all actions of Leadership Clarksville in keeping within its written By-Laws
• Collaborate with volunteer leadership to create, execute, and operate within an annual budget
• Oversee and create effective methods for the collection of annual alumni dues, pledges, and class tuition
• Creatively implement fundraising events needed to maintain a positive cash position that fully funds each fiscal year’s budget
• Record minutes of each Board Meeting
• Work with the organization’s accounting firm to record all income and expenses; requesting monthly and year-to-date statements for reporting to Board of Trustees and the filing of state and federally required forms

Implementation:

• Design and implement the written process for annual class selection, demonstrating diversity among the selected participants
• Plan, coordinate, and execute relevant program topics in collaboration with volunteers knowledgeable of the topic
• Maintain positive visibility and recognition of Leadership Clarksville throughout the community; serve as the primary spokesperson in media outlets
• Actively participate in professional, civic, and private organizations to enhance the positive image of Leadership Clarksville
• Select LC alumni committee members, who show enthusiasm and dedication to continually improve this program, to help plan and execute the class retreat, as well as, the class graduation

Sustainability:

• Maintain open communication with area leaders to maximize future class participant referrals
• Identify and maintain a database of potential donors
• Facilitate a strategic plan with the Board of Trustees to ensure the future success of Leadership Clarksville, Youth Leadership Clarksville, and related programs
• Coordinate committees (finance, program, public relations, personnel, alumni, and others) that support to improve the overall mission and the betterment of Leadership Clarksville and Youth Leadership Clarksville
• Maintain communications with program graduates by ensuring an updated database of all Leadership Clarksville graduates, encourage ongoing alumni engagement with the program, and solicit financial pledges to sustain Leadership Clarksville

Qualifications

Professional Qualifications:

• College degree preferred
• Ability to pass background check
• Transparent and high-integrity leadership
• Experience in nonprofit management and fundraising strategy platforms
• Independent, self-starter, and multi-tasker
• Strong organizational abilities including planning, delegating, program development, and task facilitation
• Strong written, oral and, motivational skills
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and other electronic platforms
• Ability to interface and engage diverse volunteer and donor groups
• Ability to occasionally work irregular hours for meetings and functions of Leadership Clarksville and its related programs
• Three (3) references required
