Nashville CARES is seeking candidates with a diversity of work and life experience to manage our Employment Program.  This position is responsible for the design and implementation of direct client services as well as the development of a network of employment and social service partners. The role’s duties emphasize individualized, strengths-based case management to empower clients to gain and maintain employment. These client centered goals are then supported and implemented through on-site services and the referral network that the Employment Program Manager has developed. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in employment programs.

Job Responsibilities

Primary Job Responsibilities

Direct Client Assistance:

  • Complete Employment Program Assessments for all clients entering the program
  • Help clients identify short-term and long-term goals related to self-sufficiency and career development
  • Support clients in connecting with educational resources, as needed
  • Assist clients with developing the skills needed to obtain employment
  • Develop resumes and other application materials with clients
  • Assist clients with identification of appropriate job opportunities
  • Coordinate barrier removal through financial, nutritional, clothing, and other assistance programs
  • Liaise with the client’s primary medical case manager to ensure service provision

 

Program Management:

  • Maintain a written program plan to outline services and goals
  • Maintain program pages, referral systems, and listservs
  • Track client enrollments, program metrics, and other documentation for reporting
  • Document individualized client progress reports

 

Network Development:

  • Establish and maintain relationships with community employment and financial stability resources.
  • Establish and maintain relationship with community hiring managers, HR teams, and business owners to develop job placements with a specific focus on temporary to permanent employment options and employers that provide on-the-job training.
  • Research and develop referrals for client skills training and educational programs
  • Coordinate client access to financial literacy resources, as needed

 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience providing community based social services; experience in Employment programs strongly preferred
  • Knowledge and skills to work with individuals who have barriers to employment
  • Understanding of the external factors that impact an individual’s ability to obtain and maintain employment
  • Proficiency with a variety of technology, including Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook), electronic health records (training provided), and general Windows PC and cell phone technology
  • Ability to coordinate with team members and community partners to best meet client needs
  • Valid Tennessee Driver’s License, vehicle, and automobile liability insurance to facilitate local travel required for client/agency related business.
