Donation Truck Driver/Warehouse Worker
Job Responsibilities
Primary Job Duties:
- Drive ReStore box truck, pickup truck and rental trucks to pick up donations for Habitat for Humanity ReStore
- Donations include: furniture, appliances, cabinets, granite counters, plumbing fixtures, lighting, etc.
- Load and unload trucks using safe lifting techniques
- Provide direction, supervision and training to assistant and volunteers
- Identify and communicate to management any concerns, needs or opportunities to improve efficiency and safety
- Screen donations according to acceptability standards
- Perform work with safety as a priority
- Answer customer questions and provide information about the ReStore and Habitat for Humanity
- Understand and explain donation policies to customers
- Provide excellent customer service at all times to customers and donors
- Driver is expected to work in the store when there are no pickups and before/after pickups
Other Duties and Responsibilities
- Daily inspection of donation pickup truck to identify potential safety or maintenance issues
- Help maintain a clean, organized and safe truck, warehouse and retail environment
- Coordinate and cooperate with volunteers to provide them with a positive experience
- Assist in moving merchandise in and out of the store as directed
- Assist with deconstruction
- Stock store and price merchandise
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Commitment to Habitat for Humanity’s housing objectives in Williamson County
- Effective written and oral communication skills Self-starter with ability to work both independently and with other staff and volunteers
- Ability to relate to people of different races, faiths, incomes
- Physical ability to complete work in the store/warehouse, even during extremely hot or cold weather
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving history
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Willingness to cross train to perform different responsibilities in the ReStore
- Must pass background check
- High school diploma or equivalent required
Physiscal Requirements
- Must be able to lift 100 lbs
- Must be able to do repeated lifting of large/heavy items
- Must be able to stand, squat, bend
