JOB SUMMARY
The Director of Residential Services is responsible for homes and programs within the supported living homes. These homes are in multiple counties within Tennessee. The Director’s primary responsibility is ensuring all programs operate within budget and adhere to the regulations set forth by the funding source. They will directly supervise the Residential Managers and Scheduling Supervisor.
Job Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Create individual program budgets and ensure adherence to each
- Ensure staffing ratios are maintained for each program to meet all regulations
- Develop processes that ensures staff are well trained and ensure training is effectively executed
- Work directly with the HR department to develop retention and recruitment goals/actions
- Work directly with the Finance department to ensure processes are in place to account for personal funds management
- Directly supervisor Residential Managers and Staffing Supervisor. Provide mentoring to assist in building leadership skills within the team.
- Provide support and guidance to the residential management team that promotes Prospect’s values to create a positive culture among staff
- Communicate directly with DIDD and other funding sources as appropriate
- Communicates with conservators and ISC’s as needed
- Respond to emergencies including filling shifts on an emergency basis
- Provide guidance in crisis situations
- Work in collaboration with the executive team to accomplish agency goals and objectives
- Develop strategic goals for the department
- Participate in Board of Directors meetings as needed
- Work collaboratively with the Compliance Department to ensure that documentation is complete and adequate for audit purposes
- Identify opportunities for, deployment of, and monitoring of enabling technology.
- Promote a safe work environment
- Address performance issues through performance improvement plans and disciplinary action as appropriate
- Advocate for persons served
- Other duties as assigned by management
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position operates in a professional office environment the majority if the time. This role routinely uses standard office equipment. Standard office hours are Monday – Friday, 8-5, but will require availability to address urgent situations in the evenings and weekends within the homes.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education
- Required Bachelor’s degree in related field
- OR equivalent experience in social services, health care or related field
Experience
- Required: Five years of experience overseeing social service programs
- Preferred: Experience overseeing residential programs
Licenses/certifications
- Valid driver’s license
- Valid automobile insurance
Competencies
- Experience working with The Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (DIDD) regulations and programs. Must have five or more years of experience.
- Understanding of DIDD and MCO.
- Competent in Microsoft office suite
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both in written and verbal communication
- Ability to understand and manage to budget
- Ability to keep detailed records
- Ability to make decisions in the best interest of persons’ served
- Ability to learn new skills, including using computer programs
