Job Summary

The Director of Programs is the supervisor of the Program Team.  This team is responsible for providing training, technical assistance and support to member programs and communities statewide. 

Job Responsibilities

Management:

  • Day to day supervision of Program Managers
  • Overseeing all projects of the Program Team
  • Conducting performance reviews for Program Managers
  • Monitoring job performance of the Program Team members
  • Ensuring compliance with all agency policies and procedures by the members of the Program Team
  • Participate in Management Team

Technical Support/Information Dissemination:

  • Provide training, technical assistance and public policy information on crime issues to member programs and communities
  • Provide technical assistance to victims’ rights organizations statewide
  • Provide referrals and information to victims statewide
  • Provide information and support on issues affecting victims to communities, victims’ rights and victims’ services organizations statewide
  • Assist in review, revision and implementation of training curriculums

Public Speaking:

Represent agency at meetings/events as requested by the Executive Director.

Meeting Attendance:

  • Attend all meetings of the board of directors
  • Attend committee meetings as required
  • Represent agency at community meetings/events as requested by the Executive Director
  • Attend State Coordinating Council meetings

Communications:

  • Provide ongoing feedback to Executive Director regarding programmatic issues
  • Respond to requests from programs and victims, including distribution of resources
  • Prepare narrative reports to board, Council and funders as needed

Program Support/Development:

  • Supervise the assessment of statewide service delivery to victims of crime and families of victims of crime
  • Provide information, support and technical assistance to the Domestic Violence State Coordinating Council, programs and communities seeking to develop or expand services victims or families of victims of crime
  • Assist with statewide victims rights public awareness campaigns and activities, including Crime Victims’ Rights Week

Development:

  • Assist in research, development, and submission of grant proposals
  • Assist in agency strategic planning

Networking and Advocacy:

Network with other agencies and systems providing services to domestic violence victims, sexual assault victims and victims of crime or families of victims of crime

Other Duties:

Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director

Supervision:

Supervised by and accountable to the Executive Director.

Qualifications

  • At least three years supervisory experience
  • At least five years experience working with victims of domestic violence, sexual assault or other crimes or the families of victims of crime;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the problems associated with violence against women and/or children and the needs of victims of crime;
  • Demonstrated ability for organization and administration;
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting;
  • Demonstrated skills in oral, written and interpersonal communications, including computer skills; and
  • Demonstrated ability to gather and analyze data, and disseminate information.
