Nonprofit Donor Development Director – Job Description

We are hiring a Donor Development Director who will be responsible for organizing and executing our grant fundraising efforts, personal giving and directing our corporate giving appeals. The qualified candidate will work with various foundations and our corporate giving team to secure funding. They will assist department coordinators and leaders in developing and maintaining donor relationships and securing new ones.

 

Who We Are

Rock The Street, Wall Street (RTSWS) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit making a big impact. Our financial and investment literacy program is designed to bring both gender and racial equity to the financial markets and spark the interest of a diverse population of high school girls into careers in the M of STEM – finance. Our programming is offered in 63 high schools in 35 cities across the U.S, and in Vancouver, CA and London, UK. 

 

Job Responsibilities

General Responsibilities:

 

Plan and Execute the Grantmaking Process

  • Research and evaluate new funding opportunities
  • Be Organized & Strategic taking into account our organization’s calendar
  • Determine hard deadlines 
  • Create a proposal task list 
  • Be realistic and continue to refine 
  • Research grants that are in alignment 
  • Effectively format, communicate, and construct LOI’s and grants aligned to specific Foundation guidelines 
  • “Give good phone” as we develop long lasting relationships with foundations, corporate social responsibilities with top American, Canadian and UK organizations

 

Grant Writing and Reporting

  • Deliver high-impact and compellingly proposals, reports, LOIs, and grants 
  • Manage reporting due to grantor foundations
  • Managing documents related to grant submissions
  • Collaborate with team and study RFPs to craft comprehensive funding requests 
  • Clearly and concisely communicate opportunity and validate need 
  • Ideal candidate will have a demonstrated history of successful grant applications

 

Work with the RTSWS Corporate Giving Team – A corporate giving program is an initiative where companies give their time, money, or resources to a charity, foundation, or NGO

 

  • Work, train and develop our Corporate Giving Team
  • Work with Corporate Social Responsibility individuals at major corporations, investment  and accounting firms and banks who want to learn more about how to give back to their communities. Show them the way. 

 

Monitor Data – 

  • Diligently and appropriately track all activity, relationships, and donations using Salesforce. This is a nonstarter if you are not familiar with Salesforce. Please don’t apply. We are metric people and will hire only those who know how to accurately measure outcomes. “What gets measured, gets done.”

 

Qualifications

  • Effective at building strong relationships
  • Proficient and effective use of technology and software to streamline our processes  and come through on deliverables 

 

REQUIRED: 

  • Passionate about our mission
  • History of leadership positions
  • Sales background
  • Closer 
  • At least 5 years of experience in grant writing 
  • At least 5 years of experience in supervising teams 
  • Is knowledgeable and comfortable working in Salesforce
  • Accustomed working with a variety of stakeholders 
  • Strong presentation, writing and speaking skills
  • Prior experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, Business, Logistics, Sales or a related field.
