Job Summary
The Development Director is responsible for the cultivation and maintenance of all aspects of fundraising to advance the mission of the organization. This includes: planning, executing and implementing annual fund drives and one premiere fundraising event. The primary duties of this position are to build funding relationships, develop new sources of revenue and maintain current revenue. This includes sponsorships, writing and managing grants and developing a comprehensive giving program. Working with the staff and board to represent Studio Tenn in the community is essential.
Job Responsibilities
• Create, plan and implement new and creative strategies to strengthen the annual campaign
• Research, network and develop proposals for sponsorships
• Develop a comprehensive online giving program
• Work with the board of directors and advisory board, development committee and other volunteers in identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding major gifts • Prepare board members for cultivation and solicitation activities and partner with them in the implementation
• Build strong relationships with foundation and corporate funders
• Plan and oversee the annual gala and other special events
• Meet all reporting deadlines and donor updates
• Oversee the collection of data on contributors and the database
• Work with marketing and communication team to unify branding and messaging • Oversee the production of all development documents and materials • Create, establish and update key contributor documents, i.e. gift acceptance and planned giving policies
Maintain and implement effective development systems and policies • Other Administrative duties as needed
Qualifications
1. A bachelor’s degree in development, communications, business, arts administration or a related field; extensive fundraising and development experience.
2. A strong track record of securing major gifts
3. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Persuasive writing, strong verbal communication and the ability to interact with people of all walks of life.
• Proficiency with personal computers and fundraising/marketing software
• Attention to detail and time management skills.
• Event coordination skills and experience
