Job Summary

For 27 years, the Tennessee Caregiver Coalition (TCC) has provided much-needed respite and support services to caregivers across the state of Tennessee. We have developed a model program, gaining national recognition and leading the way across the country by providing comprehensive support to caregivers. We are seeking an energetic individual to assist in our fundraising efforts. The Development Associate will work with the Executive Director and TCC team to plan and implement fundraising initiatives that increase financial support for our programs. They will oversee the planning and coordination of fundraising events, secure individual and corporate donors, and cultivate relationships with supporters. The Development Associate will play a vital role in ensuring the financial sustainability of our organization, enabling us to continue providing essential services to caregivers.

This is a part-time position (10 hours per week), with occasional evenings and weekends, due to events or donor meetings.  This is a hybrid position that entails working in our Nashville office and from home.

Job Responsibilities

Event Planning and Coordination:

  • Assist in the planning, organization, and execution of fundraising events.
  • Coordinate event logistics, including venue arrangements, catering, invitations, and guest lists.
  • Collaborate with volunteers and staff to ensure successful event execution.
  • Track event expenses and assist in budget management.
  • Handle event follow-up activities, including thank-you notes and feedback collection.

Donor Engagement and Cultivation:

  • Identify and research potential individual and corporate donors.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of donor cultivation strategies.
  • Prepare and send donor communications, including solicitation letters, newsletters, and updates.
  • Maintain and update donor database with accurate and current information.
  • Assist in donor recognition activities and stewardship efforts.

Fundraising Campaigns:

  • Support the planning and execution of fundraising campaigns.
  • Assist in creating campaign materials and content for various platforms.
  • Monitor campaign progress and provide regular updates to the Development Director.

Administrative Support:

  • Maintain organized records of fundraising activities, donor interactions, and event details.
  • Assist with the preparation of reports and presentations for the Development Director and Board of Directors.
  • Handle general administrative tasks related to development and fundraising.

Qualifications

  • Passion for the mission and goals of the Tennessee Caregiver Coalition.
  • Previous experience in fundraising, event planning, or a related field is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with donor management software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to effectively and professionally present Tennessee Respite Coalition to current and potential donors
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to succeed in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment
  • Excellent administrative, organizational, project planning, and management skills
  • Attention to detail, sound judgment, and sensitivity to cultural diversity
  • Ability to meet stringent and multiple deadlines
