Job Summary
The Greater Nashville Regional Council (GNRC) is seeking a Creative Services Intern. This position will be responsible for supporting the Communications team on multiple creative projects including creating custom graphics, digital ads, email marketing assets, infographics, social media content, and more while following brand style guides. The ideal candidate is passionate about developing their design skills as part of an organization that works collaboratively with community leaders to enhance the lives of those in Middle Tennessee.
GNRC is the regional council of governments for Nashville and surrounding counties and serves as one of nine regional economic development districts established by the Tennessee General Assembly in 1965. GNRC’s mission is to assist local communities and state agencies in the development of plans and programs that guide growth and development in the most desirable, efficient, and cost-effective manner, while ensuring the continued long-term livability of the region. GNRC also administers the regional transportation planning program of the Nashville Area MPO. More information is available at GNRC.org.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities
• Assist the Communications staff in the production of print and digital design layouts, including posters, flyers, brochures, invitations, event programs, web, email and social media graphics, and other branded marketing
• Adhere to GNRC branding and design standards, as well as organizational policies and procedures
• Create PowerPoint presentations
• Create Infographics, charts, and graphs
• Assist in taking photographs and photo editing as needed
• Design and create content for emails, social platforms, marketing collateral, presentations, etc.
• Support department staff in other duties as needed, such as copy editing and proofing
Qualifications
Requirements
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including: Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator
• Proficiency in with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Strong communication and organizational skills, and attention to detail
• Experience creating a variety of graphics (print/web/video)
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
• Access to computer and internet
• Be able to work 10-15 hours a week (hours are flexible)
• Video skills and Photography knowledge a plus
